The good, the bad.... and the incompetent

Hello everyone!!! Not super pissed but thought id share an experience of mine.
So it all starts when i receive an order of team bags and toploaders, i finally decided to top load my ultras as opposed to leaving them in pages. Will it make a difference to the preservation of my cards? Unlikely but screw it itll make me feel more serious and prevent holos bending?? Maybe??

Anyway my order comes in and i get a little annoyed that a couple packs of toploaders i bought were full of, like, cardboard dust? Not a huge deal but took a while to wipe each one where i noticed a few were splitting on the sides, much like a handfull of 9 pocket pages from the last time i bought pages. Anyway i get to the end of my sorting and my team bag count is five short (which i honestly found to be both strange and kinda annoying). And thats a bit of the bad.

So annoying in fact that i decide to do something i dont normally do. Formerly complain…
I shoot through an email to ultra pro who get back to me in a couple days requesting a list of info which i end up providing.

About 2 weeks go by when finally the charming lady on the other side of a screen somewhere in america gets back to me again saying thankyou and asks a couple more specific questions.

Literally 2 days go by and BAM! I get a slip in my mail saying ive got a package to pick up. I assume its some replacements from ultra pro as im not expecting anything else and the good part of that is it arrived quick, fucking quick… 60usd for postage quick. The slip says i need to pick up the parcel from a post office which is not my usual one but still in my area. Its not far but requires a special trip which i make.

I get to the post office and the guy in front of me kind of storms off unhappy about something after being served. We are after all, dealing with Australia post. I walk up to the counter person and present my card. She shakes her head and says “mmm i think ull be in the same boat” as she walks off to collect my package. I hope your playing at home @ozenigma cos if u guessed what i guessed ur exactly rite. I knew exactly what boat she was talking about and began to hemorrhage at the thought of the incompetence and utter disorganization of this company which must rely very heavily on being organised.

The woman returns empty handed and pumps the number into the keypad. If you guessed: snaps package is at his usual post office and hes about to get the run around. Congratulations to you.

She calls over one of the other staff and starts ranting on about how the stupid driver from yesterday dropped everything from the area at their post office and got annoyed when they told him to redistribute it today. I resist the urge to give them a spray and say thankyou before leaving. I resisted because it really gets my goat when assholes rip into people for shit that isnt their fault (even though this time it was) just cos theyre having a rough day. I have literally had an old fool think about punching on with me at me in a bank once cos i stuck up for the teller (young girl) by asking him if he had literally nothing else to do while on his pension our taxes were paying for apart from trying to ruin other peoples day but thats another story.

Anyway i got my package and ultra pro had provided me with some toploaders and team bags and a box of pages. 8 pocket pages??? Didnt even know they existed. Kinda annoying but oh well they helped me out and ill use them eventually i suppose? Anyone used them before?

Final thought. My society has such a small capability of solving problems. What in the hell were those fools at the post office thinking? So the driver screwed up, maybe it was his first day i dont know why but we all make mistakes. My beef is with the decision those ladies at the post office made in forcing him to redistribute the mail to another branch instead of saying hey mate keep in mind this area goes to x location for next time. Did they not think of the obvious flow on effect of customers following the instructions in their mail, going to their branch to get their mail and getting the run around to have to go somewhere else and waste their fuel and time AND put themselves in a deserving situation of getting grilled by pissed off customers all day, because the services which have just jumped infinite% in price cant even get the right address on the cards they leave in peoples mail boxes anymore?

Zero thinking. Unnecessary screwing around of customers. Assanine decision. Morons. Hemorrhage. F aus post. ///RANT:END

And for those of you still reading well done. Its nowhere near the hemorrhage others have endured but hearing of others hemorrhages helps us make light of our own in a way

It sounds like your postal service is government supported also? Just a guess due to that incompetent treatment.
And are those employees unionized?

No idea mate. @milhouse @ozenigma @acebren one of these dudes will know

Damn, that sucks dude. Really annoying indeed. Glad it worked out in the end though. I didnt know there were 8 pocket pages either. Does it have four pockets per row?

I guess stuff like that happens with all postal services. I have had USPS drop the ball on me a few times lol.

Auspost is government owned. That’s not the major issue in itself because things can be government run and be run efficiently for a profit.

The main issue is the CEO is a moronic boob whose reaction to 600 million in losses is to increase prices. When the issue is that the organisation is so horribly inept for efficiency. It needs a clean out and it needs a reassessment of its structure and procedures. It will lose more money this financial year than the last and they’ll wonder what went wrong. Then they will increase prices again.

USPS is the same, unfortunately.

@snap what about me man? I’m in aus as well.

I visit the post office every day sending out orders… And overall I think they are doing ‘okay’ in the Perth cbd. I don’t have many stuff ups or run arounds like this.
I feel sorry for you man. Maybe Some bogans at your joint.

Yeah as much as I have a lot of bad things to say about Auspost. They are horribly slow and inefficient but I think out of the probably 500 packages and parcels I have sent with them they have never lost anything and only damaged something once.

OHHH MAN IM SO ANGROOOIIIII WITH WHAT HAPPENED TODAY… NOT A GOOD DAY FOR POKESYND AT ALL!:
Okay so basically… Been stressing like crazy like i always do waiting for my epic returns to get back from US, because god my returns get better each time, and there worth crazy amounts of money each time… So yeah, I pay for the express of course, and USPS does this crazy Awesome job compared to AusPost… Ohh god.
So todays the day… they should be here, and guess what! THERE NOT!
USPS takes 3 days to get it from the US to Australia, and then Australia can’t get it from Melbourne… ( 2 hours away from my place ) in 3days… WTF!!! anyway should be there monday and I have to sit here all weekend, and worry that stuff could have fallin out or the stickytape… or whatever the box tampered… zomg I hate everyhting… WHite people problems eh?

Nah but seriously, this sucks I was going to do my massive Auctions this weekend and also have so much fun looking at my babies … WHich I have to get rid of :slightly_frowning_face: so It feels so sadness inside. I also had to go to hospital and do a bunch of shit, and Thats what really makes my day shit, it would have been okay to get to post office and shit be there after hospital -.- I will throw things. I want my CARDLINGS… Oh well can’t wait till monday. It has to be there monday… Its just impossible.

Yeah. Most get through fine for me. I think last year I had four stuff ups… Hmm actually that’s pretty high ey?

One is missing in south Australia. One got stolen and the tracking cut out in Brooklyn ny, another got stolen in Italy, and Argentina.

I’m not even surprised. SMH

I recall last year, i sold a DVD for $40 on ebay, sent it to the sellers address, she contacts me after 2 weeks saying she hasn’t received it, a few days later it shows up in my letterbox looking like it survived a nuclear bomb, i take it to the post office and they say sorry and resend free of charge, and it ends up disappearing after that lmao

Yeah two horizontal rows of four! Couldnt believe it lol. I assume theyre designed for cards of that orientation like break cards. It mite look a bit weird but ill still use them. Boxes cost anywhere from 40-70$ in aus. Who knows i might prefer it lol!
