I’m not one to complain about my grading results but I do know typos occur.
This card would be a 10 if not for centering and I’m not exaggerating. Plus, before I sent this in a member here on E4 was at my house who is VERY experienced and extremely particular and declared there was no damage on this card outside 10 parameters. He can speak up here if he’d like.
Can someone please calculate the centering for me.
I know you’re looking for a pixel-measuring scientific approach, but just from looking at it, this would definitely be a 10 in my eyes, even including the centering.
I would say a VERY strong 9 just because of the slight offcentering on the front (not sure if the slight angle of the photo exaggerates this any) but definitely not a 7! Unless there is something I’m missing this is nearly flawless.
I swear man, PSA’s up to some weird shit when it comes to shadowless. I’ve sent in some good shit and it’s maxed out at a 9. WHO’S THE PSA GRADER CUM SHADOWLESS COLLECTOR THAT’S ARTIFICIALLY KEEPING THE NUMBERS DOWN? HUH!?
On a more serious note, if everything looks flawless when it’s in a semirigid or PSA slab, my guess is the grader saw something wonky when the card was out by itself (e.g., a slight bend, like the card doesn’t sit quite right - and I don’t mean like a C bend where it’s just arced a little bit - I mean like an irregular, creaseless bend). I know I had this problem with a shadowless Mewtwo that I estimated as a 10 and came back a 6. Cracked that baby out of the slab, noticed it looked a little weird, and it’s been sitting under about 100 pounds of books ever since. Have the dude crack it out of the case and give it a more thorough once over imo.
The red circle is not the tiny scratch I’m talking about. I actually have no idea what that is. It might be dust on the case as far as I know, but it can also be damage to the foil. If you do a proper close up or save pic you’ll see what I mean.
Edit: Fair enough.
I’m just trying to see what that guy at PSA was smoking/seeing. lol
I hope you get a 10. Worst case scenario, Beckett should give you a 9.5. If not, I’d gladly make an offer on this beauty.
