The Neo Revelation Holo Bleeds? Ho-oh and More?

So I recently purchased a couple Unlimited Neo Revelation Ho-oh Holo Bleeds and I LOVE them. The holo pattern is gorgeous and they are decently rare and out of the ordinary. It’s actually a shame PSA does not recognize holo bleeds for labeling purposes. Unless they do in which case, please share!

My question is, what are ALL the other holo bleeds that you can find in the Neo Revelation Set? It seems certain holos are more likely to have the holo bleeds like Ho-oh. I’ve seen the Houndoom holo with the holo bleed too, but I think the amount varies at times? I have also heard the Shining Gyarados can have a Holo Bleed. I know they can also be first edition or unlimited.

If you have one, can you please post it here? I would love to see a nice example of each one where the purpose is to show off the bleed. What I have found is that sometimes people don’t even realize their graded copy is a bleed, which is a nice way to snipe a copy.

Here is a picture of one of the copies I recently snagged…
Notice how the holo clearly covers over the wings and feet, which is not the case in a regular copy. I’m curious what these copies would be valued at too and know it varies by desire, but I can see someone paying 2x regular price. Thoughts and pics of other holo bleeds in this set please!!!

REGULAR COPY FOR COMPARISON

Also, I know in other instances “Holo Bleed” can mean the holo pattern shows through all over the card and even on the text. I have a Japanese Promo venusaur that does this, but the neo revelation holo bleeds are simply extra holo pattern in the area of the box featuring the pokemon. Simply an awesome look either way. Great error/variant.

The Neo Ho-Oh holo bleed is one of my favorite cards. When you compare it side by side to a regular one it is dramatically different. I have a 1st edition PSA 9 that I send in for review hoping it would get a 10 but sadly I just got the news that it stayed a 9. A 1st ed. 10 in the holo bleed is one I hope to get one day.

I tried to snipe a first edition PSA 9 holo bleed ho-oh a while back and it went for about $224 I think. Very undervaued and I also love the dramatic difference. I should add the regular card to my original post for comparison… “Edit: DONE”

I have a post about this from quite a while ago. The short answer is that all holos from this set had some level of bleed in this variation, most just aren’t as noticeable like the Delibird and such. The most noteable ones people consider the go to’s are Ho-oh, Crobat, Houndoom, Misdreavus, and Celebi.

Then I would say I’m most curious about the BEST ones then because only the Ho-oh, houndoom and other obvious increases in holo pattern would be greatly desired.

I still would love to see some pictures of these other holo bleeds. Are they so rare that not many people have some examples to show? I’d love to see the crobat and celebi. I’d love to see a really good shining gyarados holo bleed too.

That’s beautiful @lugiaslair249

I can see now the holo bleed is very obvious. Sometimes I see listings that say “may be the holo bleed error”. I can see now that it is very obvious like I suspected.

Anyone else have a neo rev holo bleed? Someone here on efour must have examples of the other favorites! Show them off my fellow collectors!

The holo bleed is very obvious on the crobat and ho-oh, but I am less sure about the difference on the celebi and gyarados? Looking in my old binder, my ho-oh definitely is the bleed variant and my crobat definitely is not. Less certain about the celebi and gyarados. I can see why the bleed cards are more desirable as well! The “normal” crobat rivals Dark weezing in least amount of sparkle factor.

Now I need to look through the collection and see if I have any… hehe

WOW! Awesome set of pictures and great post! The Crobat is DEFINATELY one to look for. Huge improvement! The gyarados is tough to tell the difference, ut I bet a side comparison would help. Same goes for Celebi, but I guess it’s more vibrant.

I’d love to see a good Houndoom example too! I totally going to keep an eye out for the crobat now.

I just compared with my Japanese holos, which surely must be how the cards were “intended”. The Ho-oh is non-bleeding in Japanese and the holo pattern does not partially cover the feed and wings of Ho-oh like a bleeding English variant. The English bleed variant looks more awesome though in my opinion. However, the Japanese Houndoom has the holo pattern on most of the card, including the red-purple cloud. Crobat is also much more sparkly in Japanese. Therefore, it seems like some of these English variants either have too much or too little holofoil compared to in Japanese. Perhaps this is fitting since WoTC are known for being inconsistent.

I noticed as well that the japanese holos had way more holo pattern, but it makes the Ho-oh that much better that the bleed is still different from the japanese holo and relatively unique.

Also, @megashiningmagikarp that looks beautiful. Thanks so much for the side by side comparison!

Lastly, thanks @mjisaacs… definitely something I will keep an eye out for.
