I doubt that there is a completed psa 10 1st edition dragon frontiers ex set in existence. I know of a couple unlimited ex sets. I know that there is at least one completed wcp unlimited psa 10 ex set. I think that both sets are so cool for difficulty to complete in the gem mint grade (even the mint grade is difficult for both). They both contain a salamence ex too which is extra sweet (and rn a bit painful) for me too! Bonus points
I always thought things that broke the mold when we started collecting from base set and onward were cool.
I remember being mind blow that Haunter from fossil was not only rare but holo! It was crazy to have an evolution path where the typically uncommon card was bumped up one level.
Making the connection to ho-oh from the first episode of pokemon was a key moment as well
I find it cool that certain sought after cards may never have PSA 10 copy. The most obvious example of this is prerelease Clefable. Just the thought that no matter how hard people look, there is just a very good chance a truly mint copy doesn’t exist… Cool
I always love meeting up with other E4 members at in-person events. There seems to be a magic there that is just lacking in so many other facets of life. Everyone is instantly friends, no matter if you just met them that day or have known them for years. I think it’s so cool that we have built that kind of community here.
Don’t forgot about Arbok and Muk (sorry) backwards as well.
These I agree with as well, mostly for the TCG side. I’ve been collecting nine years now, and in certain aspects can be considered an expert by now. But even I come across new TCG cards every now and then, even those that are decades old by now, which is both amazing and mind-blowing. (Unironically even today, apparently - non-Jumbo Doug Ferguson GX)
As for Devin’s comment about non-TCG, that’s a rabbit hole of its own. But I’m having a lot of fun collecting all the unique non-TCG Seviper items out there, and indeed come across new items I wasn’t even aware of existing every few days/weeks, while looking for other stuff I am aware of but haven’t found (yet).
In the international version, you will have a 14% chance of obtaining the aforementioned Shiny IVs (2/10/10/10) and thus 86% chance of the non-Shiny IVs (0/0/0/0) whereas in the Japanese version it’s an even 50/50 split.
Both methods work on Virtual Console if anyone wants to try and doesn’t have OG hardware.
How are you supposed to do it twice? When Ditto transforms will it have mimic or transform from Gyarados’ moveset? So after you mimic transform do you just wait until it uses transform a second time and then you use your own transform?
I’m glad you brought this method up, it brought back a great memory!
I used this Shiny Gyarados/Ditto trick to get my Shiny Ditto in Crystal VC. I used this then to breed a Shiny Scyther specifically as I was going to hunt for Shiny Celebi. The plan was to NOT use a Masterball (lmao) so I had this Scyther have the move set; False Swipes, Double Team, Swords Dance and Agility.
I named her CelebiHunt and the hunt began. Fast forward on and off for I think almost 2 years.
As for the Odd Egg, I also used this method but had to keep on soft resetting as I wanted to get the rarest and lowest % chance shiny hatch. Which is the Shiny Pichu at 1% tied with Shiny Tyrogue.
