Depends on your intentions with them…re selling?hoping to grade? Why do you want them? (i have bought lots quite a bit in the past but have moved away unless its something amazing/great deal.
Have you emailed the seller to get more specifics on the packs etc? It says nm/mint for cards…but id take that with a pinch…correction-sack of salt
If you know your cards, values, worst case scenario and are able to shift cards then go for it…however approach with caution…set your budget and stick to it
Not very helpful from them buut im assuming most holoes and decent cards are in the pockets and the box has packs commons uncommons?..a red flag to be even more careful. Questions questions…and save the messages to refer to and make sure you want to commit. If they are nm+ for all holos…then thats a tasty lot if you can get for a decent amount ha(packs look opened? ask about numbers of sealed items, what they are etc? Or just take a punt and go for it based on your best judgement.Im rambling too much tonight
the packs are confirmed to be opened. They are just wrappers.
Im more interested in the binders. I’m going to ask him if he can provide more pictures or details of whats in those binders. Worried that he may just be showing the holo page and everything else is commons/uncommons
I see, thats an expensive binder taste hah! What are the clear packets in the bottom left of the box? and if you are paying loads for it and the cards are nm+ I would highly recom using Scott’s(@smpratte) Or another PSA grading service dep on location to get those higher endholos graded.Just my opinion I would ask for more specifics on the holos and rarer cards plus calc rough values so you know its a good deal.
In the end its down to you, just be careful…and good luck!
He sent me more pics of the same cards shown in the photos of the listing when I asked for other pages. So I’m guessing my suspicions may be correct. I will be skipping this lot. Thanks for the input
messaged him again asking for the condition of the charizard,
he ended the listing and said it sold “says for 9.99”
so I’m guessing wasn’t a legitimate listing after all
Lots are always a gamble, and I’m sure he posted pictures of the best kept holos in his binders which he included in the photos. Considering there’s over 10,000 cards it’s kind of hard to ask a seller for a % of how many holos and how many non-holos. There could be a ton more random holos in the boxes and would take forever to give you an answer to that. Not to mention i’m sure he had several people messaging him the same thing. Also asking for condition pictures for specific cards (again, i’m sure he had others asking the same thing) can be a hassle too. He even said the cards are in nm/m condition so you can assume that would be the condition of the cards. I understand it’s a lot of money to spend and you want to be certain, but I can understand where the seller is coming from too lol.
I messaged the buyer asking what cards he had. He wrote he has almost all the complete sets from the wizards of the coast era. He did. From 1st edition base set up to 1st edition neo destiny including shinings. All mint. Which they are.
And there are multiple doubles triples and more of each card.
It’s quite incredible. Plus almost every single promo.
It really is crazy how valuable these cards are.
I should make my own thread about it soon and show everything. I just got done sorting them.
I would say the overall value i can make is at least £8000.
There were around 7 1st edition holos including 2 venusaurs. All 1st edition shining. Gem mint mewtwo. Gem mint 1st base charmeleon.
I ask him where he got them from. All he said was he collected them and played the game when he was younger and they’ve been stored ever since. He English wasn’t the greatest. He is from Tallulah Louisiana. Looked in the middle of nowhere. So I have no idea how he didn’t know the price of these.
Overall I paid $2406 including postage. Plus dam import charges of 20%. I took a risk as I asked him what do you expect these to sell for and he replied between $1500-$2000. As it was an auction I didn’t want to risk others seeing this and bid. So I offered $2200 and he accepted straight away.
I waited almost a month to get them and it has thoroughly paid off.
