That was so cool! My wife and I went back to her hometown to watch it- really a once in a lifetime experience.

Apparently we got two eclipses today

I traveled to Vermont to view the eclipse with my family. We had clear skies and about three and a half minutes of totality. One of the most incredible experiences of my life! No pictures can do the experience justice, but I got a good one on my phone!

My parents live in Arkansas and took these from their front yard. Crazy this was at 2pm!

I’ve seen both of these total eclipses, but never from the path of totality. Maybe some day!

i took one pic, but it wasn’t focused. it’s hard to spend those fleeting seconds trying to take pictures.

I’ve now seen 4 solar eclipses (2 annular, and 2 total). there is nothing that can compare to being in the path of totality (not to be confused with an annular eclipse) when it finally crescendos and the orange sun rays turn to white as the moon perfectly sits in front of it. I would strongly recommend anyone who hasn’t to make sure they do next time, but if you’re in the US, it’s going to be a couple decades until that time.

This was also in Arkansas! Totality where I was at was only 2 minutes. This picture was taken right when totality was ending, used a telephoto lens with a “star” filter, which is usually used for photographing Christmas lights.

I stepped outside for a minute after the peak in central TN. Neat I guess. The shadows weren’t full of crescent shapes like they were in 2017.
