I assume this was supposed to have a /s after it? Because Base Set Machamp are always 1st edition, except for the Trainer Deck A version.

playing on the fact that everyone thinks their machamp is worth a lot because it is ‘1st edition’

I messaged them and was told the buyer is looking for offers of 20k or more.

Agreed. I would pick it up in a heartbeat if I had the money. Who knows when the next one if ever will be available. And such an important card.
