Psa 10 Trophy Kangaskhan. This transaction was a little different because it was not just a cash deal. The final value of @hyruleguardian’s Trophy Kangaskhan we decided would be 80k usd. I have tried for this card in the past with other holders but just didn’t have the capital to make it happen. Today much is the same but we worked out a trade of sorts. I would give him my psa 4 Trophy Kangaskhan, my psa 10 Grand Party, and 600 usd. The remaining balance is 53k to be paid no later than 1 February 2021.
Happy New Price Point!
Only reason I opted to give away my trophy kangaskhan was because of this trade. Had this trade not happened, I would have hung onto that card forever. Ask @7171. I always pay as soon as I can!
a trophy card is a trophy card. i think it’s pretty smart to bet on lower grade cards in such a trade where you can get some substantial cash. i’m glad both parties are happy!
I honestly think 4 is a fair grade for it according to PSA’s grading standards. In addition to the crease, there’s also a little bit of damage on one of the bottom corners.
But there’s no doubt about it - the front of the card is super clean! The only flaws are on the back. It’s one of the reasons I was willing to let my the 10 Khan go, as sad as I will be to give it up.
I am considering sending the card to PSA to get an Authentic label on it.
A sarcastic post on a thread of two people making a deal that both are enthusiastic about, sharing the terms of their private deal solely for the benefit of us plebs?
Chill haha, but I understand your point. 1 sale does not equal an established new price point. It’s just 1 data point. Cards like this don’t sell frequently enough to have a established price point (like a Base Set Charizard has). So I agree, there’s no “market value” for something like a PSA 10 Trophy Kangaskhan. But having this deal be public knowledge is nonetheless something I happen to know many other people are very interested in.
(By the way February 1st is 6 months from now, not 7)
7 months is a long time, and a lot can happen. If someone doesn’t have $50k right now to pay for the card, there is zero guarantee they will have the money in 7 months.
I think its deceitful to claim this is the new price point when the card isn’t sold, the deal isn’t finalized, the money hasn’t been exchanged and enlightened is still in possession of the card.
This type of post should be made when the deal is finalized and the money has actually been exchanged.
If someone uses this sale as an indicator on their own purchase, and this sale falls threw afterwards its borderline market manipulation.
I have about 80k worth of cards left in my collection that I’m liquidating, have a successful business, and have a bunch of stocks I can liquidate if I need to.
Sometimes you gotta have a little faith. A positive attitude will bring about more happiness than a a negative or cynical one. This deal will get done. Don’t you worry about it
The down payment of the 2 cards is non-refundable, chavycat understands this. I am sure he doesn’t like me so much that he is just donating 2 cards worth over $20k.
His other assets aside, his Pokemon card collection is worth significantly more than what he still owes as part of our deal, and he’s going to be selling a lot of it off. I’m sure there will be no issues.
