Just got word that Ultra Prism had a small reprint. Thoughts?
I’ve seen this floating around, but I don’t like just going with a few posts on IG as the truth.
If it is, it is obviously bad and worrisome for all S&M sets. Ultra Prism is out of rotation, so why would they reprint this one? Where will it end? It would be another notch against holding & investing into modern sets.
this info came from a distributor and its already been printed and should hit distributors at the end of the month.

Sounds pretty good to me. If I remember correctly Ultra Prism didn’t get a very large print run! It would be nice to see more product

I feel like Burning Shadows won’t because you still see Burning Shadows packs in newer product. While Ultra Prism was short reprinted from what I read so this makes a bit more sense, but I don’t understand why they wouldn’t do it earlier.
Burning Shadows had a good 100% uptick the past few months that follows the price of its main chase card & probably the most popular modern card till Hidden Fates - Ultra Prism had a near 500% growth (in Europe) in the same time, without such a heavy hitter chase. I think TPCI saw that @mtajaj32 Ultra Prism Corona Impact and just tried to flatten the curve.

I’m excited for reprints. It means more chances to get modern cards for my collection and to get PSA graded myself…
What Ultra prism products have been reprinted though?
The story behind UP is that they first started by printing booster boxes but didn’t print enough. Instead of printing more booster boxes they simply shifted production to bundled products…which in this case appeared to be the triple blister. Even though the booster box was going for $400-$500 as of recently, you could still get the triple blisters for about $15-$20. Still a reasonable price IMO if you wanted to open UP.
From what I understand, the reprint will be booster boxes but not 100% sure.
As far as significance, I think it shows that any expensive modern set within the last 4 years can get a reprint - standard format or out of rotation doesn’t matter. Be very skeptical of anyone who says that a modern set (within last 4 years) is out of print. TPCi might be changing how they do reprints - focusing on smaller reprints to prevent overloading their warehouse with inventory they can’t move (like what happened with XY era sets). I have a feeling of this because take note that the HF reprint was a “small” one as well.
Unbroken bonds, Team Up, Hidden Fates, and burning shadows are prime targets for reprints IMO.

This is super interesting. I love the Ultra Prism set and I remember the difficulty of getting hold of products shortly after release. But why now? Did they ever correct the Cyrus Prism star error? If not, I wonder if this second print run will contain the corrected version.
I believe Roaring Skies had a second print run 2 years and a few months after the original release, so it’s not unheard of.
Also, if this means we’ll start getting Ultra Prism packs in our collection/promotional boxes instead of Evolutions - for the love of god, yes please.
Roaring skies last time I had about 12 boxes worth of loose packs and “lost” a bunch of potential value. Thankfully only have a couple worth of Ultra Prism sitting around and only a single sealed booster box. I can confirm I’ve heard the same for now. “Small reprint” has already occurred and is only for ultra prism and will be fully allocated. Ultra Prism was a really strange animal and just goes to show you the danger of paying $600 for a sub 3 year old booster box.
