Understanding American Walmart site for Pokemon

My buddy is flying to Chicago from Toronto today for a business meeting and he always asks me if there’s anything I’d like him to pick up right. So I’m still hunting for that Shiny Zard and HF products are just impossible to come by these days in Canada for now until said reprint or whatever inventory is just stuck in limbo right now.

I head over to walmart.com → it tells me search their site (for local pick up and deliver to home options) which then limits you to one store that you select by zipcode? Lol, doesn’t even let you chose multiple stores that are a few miles apart which is a poor UX and UI in my opinion, but whatever.

I search “hidden fates” → nothing, I get poorly indexed partial keyword-related items

I then go to the side that says “walmart.com” → I search “hidden fates” only get all their 3rd party sellers. I narrow search by retailer, walmart.com only. I get nothing, no hits, no listings that are OOS, nothing.

I then google “hidden fates collection box walmart.com” knowing from experience that I’ll get the hidden/cloaked url that’s been previously indexed → it brings me to a walmart-fulfilled listing of the product at 19.95$ USD and it says available at the following 10 stores near your postal code… Bingo. Interesting enough, it is in the section of the walmart.com + I just decide to “back up” one category AS INDEXED by the site at the top and just click “pokemon all cards” or something, and then bam, we’re blank again lol. In other words, I can’t even reverse-engineer the search…

Anyways, am I missing something? Here in Canada, it’s simple. MJ Holdings fulfills WM orders. That whole section is “do not inventorize”. The merchant (MJH) is responsible for it, and Walmart only pays them after a sale is concluded. They mitigate their losses and the quality control of product, etc. thus how poorly filled the sections are and riddled with returned unsealed and tampered-with product.

But it seems to be different in the US as I am able to confirm inventory to some extent for the selected store/region.

I just don’t feel like wasting my buddy’s time right and I’d like to be as efficient as possible in telling him what to get, etc. seeing as he’s going to break them down either way and only bring the packs with him.

For the record, I’m at 300 packs and still haven’t pulled a Zard. I’ve ripped through many Ultra Premium boxes, for which you’d maybe expect better pulls to some extent, to no avail. More specifically, I really like the look of those 2-pack blisters and I haven’t been able to source a case for them in ages and I know the aisles are filled with those for you guys.

TCGs are vendor products so they dont keep them inventory of them on their site, your best bet is to call the Walmart and ask if they have the product you’re looking for

Got you so it’s the same principle as in Canada! So because the Hidden Fates GX Collection Boxes are a “Walmart” exclusive product, then those appear in the inventory as available, limited, or out of stock whatever on the site?
