Unknown Japanese Gym Heroes 300 Yen 2001 Sticker Variant

I came across this Japanese Gym Heroes 300 Yen 2001 print variant I haven’t seen before and can’t find information on. This one has a 2001 sticker ( ST 1 ) which is 3 years after the normal print run. Everything on it seems legit, there are very slight differences in the crimps and coloring. Since the pack has slight differences against a normal 300 Yen I don’t think it would be a mislabel of the sticker. Does anyone have any info on this?

The normal variants are:
1998 291 Yen: 4935228 98192 2
1998 300 Yen: 4935228 98192 2

This one happens to be the newer incrementing ID 00788:
2001 300 Yen: 4521329 00788 5

The 2001 sticker variant is on the left.

I believe @pichufan has made similar observations, explaining their origin (at least for the Neo 1 packs) on this topic!

Hey! Well discovered.

I’ve been collecting these packs for a couple of years and have a couple of posts on Instagram about these which feature a writeup of why these exist. The first post talks about the sticker barcode variants, and the second talks about the printed barcode variants:

I have both Neo 2 variants. What’s cool about the Neo 2 printed variant is that The Pokémon Center Company also removed all of the Media Factory branding from the reprinted pack unlike the reprinted Base Set pack I have:

Whilst I’m here I guess it’s worth mentioning that I’m still on the hunt for a reprinted Neo 1 pack: https://www.elitefourum.com/t/2001-japanese-neo-1-booster-pack-variant-might-not-exist/33418😊

@pichufan , awesome collection! I was not aware the barcode sticker existed for all those variants. I also have both the Neo 1 variants and all three Neo 2 variants.
