If you scroll to the bottom of the main forum page then there is a name of “Forum Statistics”.
In there it shows the last updated topic - or, if you wanted to see more there is a link called “View the 10 most recent posts of this forum.”.

Is that what you mean? You can also set it up so that when someone replies to a specific thread, it will send an email to you.
