I don’t know if anyone has been paying close attention but just a day ago there were 0 1st edition English Jungle, 0 1st Edition English Fossil And 0 1st Edition Team Rocket Booster Boxes on the market. The unlimited boxes are also getting more scarce for all 1st generation booster boxes along with the prices increasing noticeably again.
Could this be an unnoticed Detective Pikachu Effect Slowly Happening…? Thoughts?
more so regular supply and demand I’d say. There’s only a certain amount of sealed product available at any given time.
Definitely not detective pikachu related, product is being opened every day, there’s only so many boxes in the world left - perhaps the majority have hit collections
I noticed this as well. 1st edition Fossil boxes always seemed available and now they’re gone.
Those fossil boxes were $1300 in 2019, being given away by Dave and Adam at one point a few months ago. I just listed packs straight from a booster box for $65 each, sold 27 packs in 12 hours and that’s only because I stopped relisting. That’s $2340 in value.
i recently took all my boxes off the market, I had them listed for what I consider higher than market value and they were still selling like hot cakes, so I increased the prices by $500-$1000 each and the sales/offers kept rolling in
May I add that the total sales revenue and volume went up quite a bit after slowly dipping for a year?

Also finding decently (what is decent?) priced psa 9 WOTC holo’s is getting harder and harder for me.
I hadn’t looked at that metric for a while, recorded sold listings increased by 1000ish from May-June (about 25%) and total sales value increased by about $215k (about 70%!). It will be interesting to see the next data point which will be available on August 1st.
that’s very true, i’m currently thinking if i should buy a fossil 1st box for around 2000usd, still struggling but it’s getting harder and harder to find better deals 
I was thinking the same thing. I opened up 2 of them to open the heavy packs and grade them to complete my PSA 10 set back when you could pick them up for $1500.00 whenever you wanted with 7 or 8+ on the market at all times and light packs would only sell for maybe $35.00. I even got Dragonite and Lapras both in PSA 10 out of them and thought I made the right decision but now im thinking otherwise.
Really considering not opening or selling any product anymore for a while to see what is going to happen with the new scarce market. Who knows the prices could start to get closer to e series or neo at this point.
