How’s it going in 2025 so far? I have seen a pick-up in sales and much more interest in my higher priced items. Are we coming up to another boom?
US collectors have been saving a lot of money on eggs by not buying them, so there’s extra cash in the market for vintage atm. Priorities.

Vintage is so bizarre. I have spent years meticulously researching and acquiring everything I could related to Base set. Just last week I found something I have never seen before and picked it up. I think one day people may care so I keep acquiring the extremely rare vintage variants. I am ready to do a museum for 30th anniversary.

It makes sense. At some point people are gonna look at modern and say, “Am I really gonna pay $4k for a prismatic Umberon SIR when I can get a PSA10 1st ed dark charizard for the same price?”

I decided that I would focus on WoTC cards. that are a lot of reason and I think I’ll make a post about it and see if people agree.

Not mad, but definitely not happy about it. Since I won’t sell them, just means I have to spend more to acquire them and push back my other goals.
I can’t think of a worse time to work on Team Rocket goals. A new Rocket set is coming out in a few months and we’re in a huge boom at the moment. Wouldn’t it be better to focus on other sets that aren’t seeing such huge increases in price?

The time to buy 1st ed rocket non holos was yesterday
E-reader is out of my budget. Gym leaders is near team rocket in price and twice as scarce. Neo cards don’t even exist…Base is everywhere but so much of it is in bad shape. I don’t touch Base 2 and Southern island sellers keep running scams so I’m stuck with team rocket and Base until Neo and Southern islands go back to normal.
Not buying slabs and 1st editions are optional so it’s not toooo bad yet.

What is this about?
Won auctions and sellers won’t ship. Had 3 issues on ebay back to back. No problems with other sellers really. I decided I’d focus on TR since I knew a local shop selling all the commons. Shop got wiped out two weeks ago, bad luck.

Ahh ok gotcha. Yeah that stinks, same happened with my shop this month when I made a collection pivot. Totally wiped out on modern sealed and vintage non-holo singles. Hopefully Rocket Returns ends up being a nice distraction from other sets we can pick up cheap in the mean time
I know, unfortunately that’s where I am on my goal list. I am also working on my Jungle and Fossil sets, so just picking up whatever is available for the right price. Fossil and Team Rocket are closer as I already have the more expensive cards graded.
Last year when I was more casual a couple wiped a shop of all cards. They took everything even the digimon cards mixed in. I was so mad…I could have completed non-holos of 5 or 6 sets with their inventory.
