What are the weakest wotc sets in your opinion? Also what set do you think are underrated in wotc.

Jungle is the weakest WOTC set. I know there are some great cards in there, namely the Eeveelutions, but overall it’s weaker than Fossil in every way despite having some top tier common/uncommon artwork as well.

Sounds like it’s time for a poll!

Weakest sets: both Gym sets. Lots of very bland art.

Underrated sets: none. The entire WotC era has a lot of attention paid to it. If I had to choose, maybe Expedition. It’s a fantastic set that is simply overshadowed by Aquapolis/Skyridge.

This would be the weakest for me as well for sure.

Honestly, I’d say neo revelation.

It’s got the dogs and the shinings, along with other great arts so obviously it’s a quality set, but an abnormal amount of holos bore me. It’s rare for me to describe any WOTC holo as forgettable. Forgettable holos are 7 out of 17.

The Gym sets because of the boring Sugimori stock art. Pokemon could have done so much more with those sets. Instead, they made it so the gym leaders’ Pokemon aren’t unique at all.

Like, what exactly about the vast majority of the art in the Gym sets makes it so those particular Pokemon look like they belong to their specific gym leaders?

I thought Team Rocket did a great job with the Dark Pokemon idea. All of the art was unique and you even had Team Rocket members in some of the backdrops. But with Gym? It’s mostly just art out of a strategy guide.

Jungle is ahead of fossil IMO, outside of dragonite/gengar/Articuno/lapras it doesn’t do much for me
