It has come to my attention that people are trying to steal this topic from me! I’ve been starting this thread for years. Go away
Anyway, what are you goals for next year? How did you do on your 2024 goals?
I think if my psa return comes back before the end of the year, I will hit all of my goals from last year. I started selling cards on ebay, I will have hit 50% on my species collection graded goals, and I graded a good number of cards.
Next year I will ramp it up! Sell more, grade more and hit 80% completion! Maybe 100% if I allow myself some 9s!!
I want to complete my graded goals so i can just collect new releases, constantly playing catch up is tiring.
Anyway, let me know what your goals are and I know its early, but heres to a good 2025!
Finish more languages for my marill binder collection!
I’m missing 50 or so cards at the moment.
Another goal is to grade or buy a reverse holo Aquapolis Marill in PSA 10. That’ll take me up to every artwork from original to the end of the ex era in PSA 10!
I think for 2025 I would like to focus in a little more. Specifically, I would like to do more work on my:
Psyduck binder
Komiya binder
Lawson postcard collecting (missing two of the rarer ones)
Graded Worlds cards (specifically Staff and Finalist/Champion cards)
Additionally I would like to sell a lot more. I have been very focused on buying recently so distilling down some of the stuff I have will help accomplish some of the above goals.
As for the goals I made last year, I’m happy to report I smashed them out of the water! To recap:
At least one card of every language Piplup was released in. I was able to find 3 Russian cards this year alone!
English set cards complete. With English, now I just have to keep up with new releases and keep an eye out for good prices on the expensive promos.
45% Piplup line + Dawn/Hikari/Akari master set completion. I was at 39% this time last year, and now I’m at over 66%! It was a good year for the binder for sure, adding over 250 new cards!
Much the same as last year, these are my new goals for 2025:
Complete all set cards in one additional language.
Continue to keep up with English set releases.
Acquire one English promo I’m still in need of.
80% Piplup line + Dawn/Hikari/Akari master set completion. Most of the bulk is done, so we’re getting into the pricier cards now.
I wish everyone the best of luck on your collection goals for the upcoming year!
The stamped worlds cards such as finalist and champion stamped cards have plummeted over the last ~2 years. Finalists were consistently doing at least 5k and now they are going sub 1k. Good time to feast up haha
high end psa 10 charizard (skyridge, gold star, legendary collection reverse holo,…), or
very low population high end card (art academy Mew/Kyogre/Pikachu, Japanese Espeon gold star, Trainer 1/2/3 prize, Umbreon Daisuki promo, Master’s key, any Snap card…
Keeping up with new TCG releases for English Pikachu, FA Supporter, and CHR cards; non-English exclusive Pikachu, FA Supporter, and CHR artworks; and Seviper in all available languages.
Trying to find as many new non-TCG Seviper stuff as possible. I especially hope to find the three missing Metal Collection figures, the only Seviper figures I’m still missing.
As always, since I started collecting 9 years ago, trying to find the four missing Pikachu TCG cards that I should be able to afford: German/Spanish Surfing/Flying Pikachu. (I’m not gonna bother with the other five cards I’m missing, which are four Japanese Art Academy cards, and the Pikachu SNAP.)
Completely unrelated to Pokémon: but for the first time I’m gonna try to learn full CFOP and practice speedcubing 3x3, to eventually become sub-20[1]. In 2012-2019 I’ve been a twisty puzzle collector (and I have over 400 puzzles for those unaware), and never bothered to learn the hundreds of algorithms to speedcube 3x3 (for reference, the beginner’s method I know and have used since 2012 to solve the 3x3 Cube = 6 algorithms; full CFOP, which is the easiest of the many speedcubing methods = 120 algorithms), but I finally decided to do so and become sub-20 (eventually - likely not next year tbh).
Greetz,
Quuador
sub-20 means you can consistently, aka for average of 100 solves, solve it below 20 seconds - I’m currently without ever speedcubing and using the beginner’s method sub-45 or so; not entirely sure, since I never timed myself, but my TPS (turns per second) isn’t too bad tbh ↩︎
Finish my gen 1/2 dex, pre e-series. I started it in Jan of this year and I’m at 72% which should get to about 80% before the year is done. Hopefully I can finish it and make a collection thread by April or so.
Other than that I’m hoping to go to France and Germany in the first half of the year, and Spain and Italy in the second half.
