Petition to just call the color Squirtle Blue. It’s a color that can range from greenish to blue.

Color variation in animals is caused by differences in pigments within their tissues, often driven by genetic factors, and can be influenced by environmental pressures like natural selection. This can lead to adaptations like camouflage or signaling to other animals depending on the color variation displayed. Different color patterns within a species can happen due to genetic diversity and offer survival advantages in their specific habitats.

For squirtle, it seems deep, open, or murky water leads to a darker blue skin pigment while shallow, sunny, or tropical water leads to a greener tone. Perhaps this is related to the waters pH levels or temperature. Ultimately they are all squirtles color.

Much like humans Squirtle’s skin pigmentation changes based on its exposure to UV rays.

I will use your first picture and last picture as an example.

Changing the thread type to Question to give yourself a Solution is diabolical and an abuse of administrative powers. Have some shame!

I’d say he’s blue

Grey colored with the variations being attributed to several internal factors such as heat, age, and impurities as well as environmental factors like chemical exposure, anodization, oxidation, and electroplating.
