What do you guys think? Are these real? 1997 Bandai Carddass

Hope to get some expert opinions on them. Thanks!

What makes you think they aren’t real?

Looks real to me, as stated by @jaxlax21 what are your concerns with these cards? These are hard to find in good condition and go for a pretty penny, so I can understand the caution.

Cheers!

There actually have been some very convincing fakes around of these, one thing i noticed is that on file 000 charmander’s flame is a lot closer to the edge of card than on my copy and the ones i found from google. The letter spacing also seems a tiny bit wider than on other copies but that might very well be perspective. Do you have card width and height to compare, not sure if there’s a lot of variance within different copies but that would at least tell if the flame is closer to the edge because of tighter cut or if the card layout is different

My card for comparison

Edit: the card actually looks a bit off centered so might be that too. Most likely authentic card but like said there have been very good fakes of these around.

Because PSA threw them back at me citing QA.

I’m very shocked and kinda pissed as I got the whole binder and the guy claims the binder was collected from Japan - the trios got graded while these two got thrown back. I compared to those graded ones on PSA scans and can’t find anything at all!

I don’t think anyone would bother to make such a realistic fake so many years back…

Can definitely tell there is something wrong. The borders don’t match other examples and the corners look off. I’m thinking these are fake. If not fake, then I’d guess trimmed.

The top to bottom distance from “Pocket Monsters” looks pretty different from the two copies posted. The ones sent back by PSA seem to have the text a lot closer to the bottom edge. If this was just bad centering, you’d think there would be more space at the top of the card, but that doesn’t really appear to be the case.
