Today I purchased this Raichu and noticed the cert was 94576591. Which means we aren’t far away from 99999999.
The question is: what happens after? Do we get a new digit? do they fill in the missing 3xxx? Do they add a letter to the beginning of the cert??? Do we switch to hexadecimal???
Let’s hear your theories. And lets see who is right.
Start over at 00000001 again and every time a new card is graded the card with the old cert vanishes.
My real answer is they just add another digit.
They start using letters. A00000001 and so on.

I prefer if they add another digit, since it’s kinda unnoticeable. Adding a letter feels so out of place and annoying, like something you’re supposed to read but it’s actually garbage data or a glitch.

We start getting arguments that pre-letter grades were graded with too much leeway and only B series were seriously graded and should be valued more. Also pop control rumors will tie into it somehow.
My OCD is going to go through the roof if they add letters. Please don’t PSA please don’t 
They’ll have fulfilled their life’s mission and will officially endorse EMA grading as the premier service to use going forward
The cert count up has actually been an elaborate count down to reveal that grading has been a scam this entire time.

I pray its not this but I wouldnt be surprised if the doubled up and reusued old cert numbers. They already have done this with DNA graded items.
That would be a fun cert # to own.
They buy TAGs technology of printing/etching the label on the glass/plastic with tons of anti fraud technology. No more Xiao6666 tactics then.

I think it’s fun to guess what the 9999999 card will be. I’m guessing it will be a Wemby of some kind but would be cool if they make it a Pokemon card
