So someone on reddit (yeah i know, really intelligent place to begin with) was very adamant on the fact that Pokemon should just reprint “all of the money cards.” Cards like gold stars especially. Their reasoning going along the lines of being good for the newer collectors who can’t afford thanks to those big bad scary “investors” 
( so let’s just say Nintendo did reprint the gold stars, how would that effect the overall gold star market? Would it drop? Would it make older ones even more valuable? I’m really curious to hear everyones thoughts on this (apologies if there was a topic like this before, i didn’t see one recently)
Look at the Evolutions set, did that effect prices on the original Base Set? Yeah it did, but it actually pushed the prices of the originals higher up. People ALWAYS want the original when it comes to collectibles.

Do you mean reprinting the old gold stars? I think that may be okay so long it they could clearly be differentiated from the older ones, and not just by a date or set symbol, but by something that clearly and immediately screams “THIS IS A REPRINT!!”. I don’t think this would really be necessary though.
I would be all for them bringing back a new wave of gold stars(Kanto starters?!?!), which I think would hype up the older GS cards for new collectors, and make older collectors feel like they have to acquire the new ones to complete the set. New gold stars would be a win-win for meeting demand, but personally I would want the pull rate to be ridiculously low with all the product flooding the market nowadays.

Money cards are money cards because they are old(relatively), nostalgic, original, and rare(in the context that Pokemon was in a dip of popularity during the release of Gold Stars).
If you reprint them all of those parameters aren’t there.
The fact that the current card stock feels cheaper than a 2 dollar steak wouldn’t help either.

If they were text for text reprints,why would someone want them nowadays lol.
They wouldn’t be playable in the slightest. Also knowing what happens nowadays they would print way too many for them to be rare or expensive
