What should Pokémon do with their 25th anniversary?

It’s in 2,5 years Pokémon’s 25th anniversary already. And what do you think Pokémon is going to/ or should do?

Also I think this anniversary is a very bright future perspective for us Pokémon collectors.

They should hold a large three day pokemon convention that has places to play the TCG, pokken, pokemon go, and the other video games. It should also have generally exciting pokemon related events/rides preferably for kids like roller coasters and carnival games. There should be a small competitive tournament here with super limited and cool English trophy cards that only a select few can complete in (preferably random selection).

Hangout spots dedicated to sharing our collections and talking to other collectors.

For the elderly and eligible a pokemon themed bar with pokemon themed cocktails and drinks.

They should have different booths for purchasing pokemon cards and various merchandise from every different language.

One thing I wouldn’t want in this fantasy would be a place where people sell vintage cards and packs. Sure pokemon should remember their amazing past, but in other ways than having third party businesses sell old merch.

This is my dream

Also it should be held in Canada

Technically the legendary collection is base set 3. So would it be base set 4? (But you then could argue Evolutions is…) I’m confused!

Put the Gen 3 starters in focus as promotional cards? (Swampert/Blaziken/Sceptile demands fame)

Promo cards, lots of promo cards, preferably with exclusive artworks and/or exclusive distribution systems

Honestly I’m quite tired of how overdone Gen 1 is, so for the 25th anniversary I’d love to see some 2nd Gen love.

Johto is inherently very culturally Japanese, and I feel like that’s a good basis for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Pokemon.
You could have events and promotional releases at the Pokemon Centres in the Kansai region.

As far as video games go I feel like this would be a good opportunity to introduce mega evolutions for the Johto Starters.

An anime like they did for the gen 1 games would also be very cool, good opportunity to promote all that cultural imagery too.

Like they did with Evolutions, I’d like to see a Gen 2 reprint, featuring some of the best Neo cards (and some of the Shining cards plz).

A few exclusives around the world to really celebrate how international the brand has become.

In addition to all those specifics, to just continue with what they did last time around, various events for the games, the TCG, just whatever will engage the fans and make them feel appreciated really!

Some neo era cards have been reprinted in the latest set

They have indeed, Champions Road right? there are some cool reprints in that set but I specifically mean a wider reprint akin to Evolutions!

I’d love to see them give gary or smpratte a spot on the board, so us collectors can have some damn input on the future of pokemon tcg. bring back the 1st ed stamp?

let’s just go directly to base set X. I mean that’s a marketing strategy these days, right?

A complete shining set. I havnt really thought yet about how to make the holos and higher teir cards stand out over the rest of the set. Still, it would make for a very unique release. Maybe holos that are of 1st gen? I know shining legends was just last year but the gap between that and neo Destiny was a huge span of time for shinings.

How about they just do nothing. Maybe print a promo of bidoof with the number 25th in the artwork.

We do not need reprinted cards guys, we need pokemon to do something with their absolutely massive community! Stop thinking cards! We need more people to get involved and have pokemon be brought up at the dinner table either by an adult or a child!

That’s why I suggested they create a new event held not only for people who play the cards or the video games, but for everyone however they enjoy the pokemon culture.

Pokécon?

In all seriousness, any English release would be underwhelming with no real collector value compared to what they’ll give Japan unless there’s a seismic shift in tpci’s approach to the Western market.
