By way of introduction, I’m an EU based collector of both English and Japanese cards. I’m collecting cards from base set all the way through the modern sets. From time to time I clean out - as I need my storage space - my double/bulk cards (bulk includes all non holo c/u/r and holo r and GX’s) and this goes well with English cards but not so much with Japanese cards.
Of course I expected as much as Japanese cards are less sought after in this market. However, this leaves me with the question what is the best way to sell your Japanese cards, besides listing them in EBay. Are there business that buy these cards or do you have any other suggestions.
Unfortunately, I am unaware of really any place that buys Japanese bulk. I have tried as I have a bunch and mainly a Japanese collector. Really the only why I know of is just to auction bulk on Ebay. All the companies I have looked at online only buy English bulk. The only other option is selling them on Facebook or w/e groups you are a part of.
Many thanks for your reply. This was also my conclusion after doing a search on the internet. I’ll wait and see if someone else has a great idea and if not I’ll just auction them on EBay .
I have the same problem. I have lots of Japanese XY & SM bulk that I don’t need, but I have no idea how to get rid of it. I also don’t want to sell them on eBay because it takes lots of effort and with big lots shipping costs will be so high internationally (I’m from Finland and our shipping costs are very high if you send a box) that I think nobody would be interested because of that. So I have no idea what to do. Holos I could sell as a lot but when it comes to Common and Uncommons I have no idea what to do.
Another idea might be to post in the trade area here. I also collect Japanese and I’m looking for a bunch of stuff from e series right now, so trading/buying in bulk is ideal. I’m sure there are others who are set collectors who you might be able to trade with to get you closer to your goals while also helping others!
I’ll basically pay shipping and a tiny bit for the cards, but that’s about it. It’ll take me ages both to piece out Japanese bulk and sell them. And since I’m located in the Netherlands/Europe, it might be a solution.
I’m throwing it out there since it looks like a bad option is better than no option at all. Besides, at least I can promise you a hassle-free transaction that’s not wasting your time.
Hit me up with your offer if you think eBay isn’t a good solution for you.
Not a bad idea. I planned on seriously started selling/trading some stuff soon anyway. I have like 8000+ Japanese non-Holo duplicates here… I once bought a lot of 7,000 cards for 100 USD myself. I got loads of cards for my collection, so it was a great deal, but now I’m left with loads of duplicates. xD
The only time I sell is when I make a list of a specific Pokémon for a collector and they ask me if I have any they don’t have yet (which is usually the case for starting collectors).
Then again, I haven’t actively sold anything since I started collecting… I’ve never even sold anything on eBay before… I have some sealed Korean and Thai booster/Deck boxes, as well as some cards which are 300-1250 USD in today’s market. I also plan on selling some of my twisty puzzles I don’t use at all. I just need to find the motivation and time. Maybe during my Christmas break… But if anyone has a card I don’t have yet (see my full collection of 10,000+ cards here), I don’t mind looking whether I have certain cards you guys/girls are looking for to trade. Not sure if the shipping costs are feasible though, since I live in The Netherlands.
The last thing you can do is give away some . I found some nice people in my area that they had a nice kid and I gave him 2000+ English bulk. I think he almost pooped his pants lol but I give away cards from time to time, not just bulk.
Edit, I have a little bit of newer Japanese bulk of someone wants US and just pay for shipping.
To be honest, that’s a really nice idea. I do think that I’ll try to sell the majority through eBay and if that doesn’t work I’ll contact a few of the persons that replied to this thread. However, I will check my neighborhood and see if I can donate some of the cards.
