What's my Charizard 1st Edition Shadowless PSA 8 worth

With a recent sale on eBay for 7,028 (UK origin sale), and then 2 other $6300 sales right before it, what would you say is a fair asking price on my psa 8. Stop the presses, it is a 0 cert. The front is beautiful, the back is why it is an 8, lol. I am looking to sell.

Honestly, I can see people holding out for $7500 to sell now.

This has to fall within PSA’s grading guarantee right? I mean… that back top right corner alone

As for what you could fetch, honestly you could probably fetch the market for it($6.5-7.5k I guess) since there’s collectors, even here, that have stated that they do not care to look at the condition as they trust PSA’s grading completely lol

I got offered $9850 for my PSA 9 today. PSA 8 are now the new PSA 9’s. 6K+ easily.

I am looking to sell but the top right corner of the back is obvious and would have some that deny the psa 8, I always wondered why there are such differences in grading regardless of time, I mean, its not like they(PSA) were incompetent at the time of this grading

It’s definitely one of the worst looking 8’s due to the back but the front looks pristine. If you could get 6K-7K, I would sell and then save up to get a higher end Charizard. Maybe go after a 1st Edition Shining Charizard PSA 10.

I figured down the road that would be a better decision.

In the end it’s all conjecture and subjective. This might be one they actually give a grade guarantee out too if the corner is actually damaged. Of course that might end up being a monumental waste of time, but just worth noting.

That being said back to your original question- I guess $6-7K is the new norm for a PSA 8!

What does that mean “give a grade guarantee” concerning PSA? Do they alter something, I though if I resubmit then they just lower it.

In the second picture you provided it appears as though there is a bend or fold in the top right corner of the card. From what I understand a bend like that automatically brings the grade to PSA 6 even if the rest of the card is gem.

So I think what he is saying is the card is over-graded and PSA will regrade the card and refund you the difference.

Can someone confirm?

How does one sell things for thousands and not be scared of being scammed? I sold iphones and xboxs years ago and i had issues with about half the orders (mostly product switching), I just ate the losses back then but i can’t do that with things going 10k. I have some cards that are now worth thousands now and regret not selling them out and switching to cheaper investments.

Its just too easy for someone to buy something like this, file a return and send back a rock or something.

aslong as the top corner is not bent then looks like a normal 8 to me

At that point it is a very serious crime and the first steps are to file a report with the postal inspector and a police report. If you try to scam people out of expensive items that are worth thousands then people aren’t just going to eat the losses. They’re going to file reports against you and it wouldn’t shock me if they took you to court. At that point, if the scammer sees that you’re not messing around, they may “find” the correct item that they must have misplaced or some other lie they come up with.

I agree. Dude seems to be getting grilled for a “soft” 8. Looks fine to me.

If it makes you feel better my 4xxx PSA 8 Karp has a corner ding. :open_mouth:

I would also agree, providing it’s just a scratch rather than a bend in top corner, seems to be a perfectly normal 8

@breakingpokemon , Not to throw your card under the bus, but that corner ding on the front looks way worse than the corner ding on the back of the card in the OP.

But… this goes against the 4xxx truthers. :open_mouth:

Well the card isn’t bent in any way, I had a zoom in of that corner but Imgur wouldnt process or something. its a scratch. Otherwise you would see something in the front, and the front is perfect. That karp post shows a bend, those masaki promos are famous for it, this is just a scratch, though noticeable, but not a bend.
