What's the difference between a PSA 8/9 & 10?

Hey all,

New to the game so apologies for this Q, but some googling just left me confused.

Also referenced some actual 7s/8s/9s but they varied so much and often felt contradictory.

Even the PSA website in its descriptions didn’t fill me with too much confidence when analysing what I had in front of me.

Can anyone give a ‘explain like I’m 5’ version of things highlighting subtleties between 7+ grades?

Appreciate it!

@xgav1337x has a pretty good article about it: www.elitefourum.com/t/psa-grading-standards/15683/1 Unfortunately he (still) has to add the PSA-7 to 10 scans to the article. His video does cover all of them though:

Apologies if this is mentioned in the videos above but it’s still probably good to reiterate: Since PSA often treats minor, near invisible folds or indents that might not take away from up-front eye appeal as damage, there are very beautiful cards in some PSA 6 or 7 slabs. If it’s just about eye appeal to you, those 7s or 6s can look better than higher grades.
Some releases are notorious for damage like that, like the Masaki cards or anything Japanese that’s peeled off a sheet.
