as some of you might know, i posted a thread about a very suspicious seller on ebay yesterday. that thread got closed as soon as a certain mod was in the mood todo so after he posted a total irrelevant comment, i couldn’t even respond anymore, read again here:
short: i have nothing to do with this seller, i have no beef with him whatsoever, i don’t even know him. i just saw that he tries to sell normal cards for a ridiculous price and saying that it’s the only set that is being offered online and that it’s a great buy, which isn’t the case, the set exists x-times for 1/10th of his price. he literally responded that he doesn’t give a shit about collectors and just wants to make money and severely insulted me after I said that he is scamming people.
the only thing i wanted to do is trying to warn newer people here to avoid this seller not because it’s expensive, but because it’s a scam. there’s a big difference between offering super rare cards for a high price and offering standart cards for 10x market price, saying that they’re totally worth it and lying by saying that you can’t get them elsewhere.
now, what’s wrong with the people supporting bullshit comments like those in the thread above when someone is simply trying to help collectors, attacking me for no reason when trying to help others? of course, we can all just stay silent and wait until someone new to the hobby buys the cards and gets scammed. is this what ya’ll want?
strange community, saddens me, i think people nowadays call this “toxic”, so much hate.
feel free to comment something intelligent or just close the thread again.
If a person owns a card, they can list it for whatever price they want. If I want list a base unlimited magnemite for $10,000, that is my right. If someone wants to buy it, that’s their right.
You messaged a seller just to complain about him exercising his rights as the owner of the card. When he was rightly annoyed by this, you got butthurt and posted here under the guise of being a knight in shining armor trying to protect us from the imagined villainy.
“This card outclasses 95% of super rare cards out there.”
Wow this guy lies in his listings, man I think we should make a thread to warn the community about this seller. I don’t know him and I don’t have beef with him, but I need to make sure i hurt his ability to sell by libeling him because he’s asking for a higher price than I think he should. /s
If you don’t like the price someone is asking for a product, just ignore it and move on. Sellers can ask whatever price they want and it is not your job as a buyer to tell them their prices are off! This whole thread is a total waste of everyone’s time because it is saying a lot more about you than it does about this seller.
Leaving out your messages when posting a conversation also seems douchy.
Edit. Creating a new thread when your old thread was closed is a bit of a no go. Could’ve messaged the mod if you were curious why it was closed. This just seems like your ego got hurt.
You messaged the seller saying his prices were too high.
You get a message back, dont buy it then.
Absolutely fine, why would you say that it is a scam? If the price is too high but if someone is interested in the card for that price, why not? Not a scam if someone pays for a card and receives the card they paid their money for.
I and all the other mods volunteer our time, completely unpaid, to manage this community because we love it. The total time value that the staff team has put into this site is easily into the millions of dollars. I don’t say this because we want or deserve any money, but so those who make threads like this can understand who they are shitting on.
