Ever had this? When a buyer keeps wanting more and more pics of a card and then asks for more pics of other 10s without actually buying a single thing? Happened last year when this guy kept wanting and negotiating - finally listed two for him to buy after many back and forths (Base JP Chars PSA 10 x 2 when they were going for $500 each) only to have another buyer beat him to the punch and buying them first after two days of active listing? Then he comes back and complains about not pulling the trigger. I think this guy would have seen a 10x return by now …
I don’t send them pics & block them. The key is to not tell them you blocked them or it’ll cause more issues (had 3-4 this week like this).
The buyer who asks for pics on 10s specifically is not your buyer. They’re 95% more likely to not purchase after the pics (my experience), and they have a much higher chance of returning the item.
Buyers who you should accommodate include those that ask about specific condition issues and not a blanket pics request. For example, “I understand this is graded a 10, but there’s a version PSA doesn’t recognize. Please let me know” OR “PSA has treated this card differently over time. I’m looking for a copy without X specific condition issue. Do you mind checking and possibly taking another photo?” - great reason for extra pics.
Otherwise this type of buyer is not worth your time. It’s better to block them than reply. The market is only growing. Respect your own time.
In my experience, 90-95 percent of the buyers who ask any types of questions (e.g. if they can see more photos, what’s your best price, what’s the lowest you’ll take, etc.) never actually make any purchases and are more of a waste of time than anything else.
When I first started selling on eBay, I would typically reply with more photos whenever asked. Now those types of requests automatically get ignored. The best is when some buyers ask for extra photos of bulk commons. Lol.
Just had someone asking me whats my best price. I was very tempted to say whats the highest you’d pay but after doing that a couple times it hasnt worked out so i refrained
And the funniest thing about the “what’s your best price” question is that MY best price is the list price lol. I would almost rather someone asks “what’s the lowest you’ll go” because it at least makes more sense.
I tried to explain to a buyer why I don’t take back pictures on mint cheap cards. This was literally 2 minutes ago. He’s right, he won’t be buying it or anything from me since he is now blocked.
I mean I only buy raw cards if there are pictures of both sides but I would never ask a seller to do that on a bulk listing. If you want a 10 quality card, bulk listings are a silly place to look.
I just don’t understand why people have cards over $200 on their Ebay but don’t have a picture of the back of the card?
I understand for cheap cards, but all I hear is “buy the card not the grade”, but people don’t put up photos of the back so I have to ask for them.
