When using Pokémon for YT goes wrong..

In my pursuit of staying up to date with any and all recent untraditional influencers, content creators, famous people blabla getting into or using Pokémon for some views and some content… I stumbled on this :joy:

Guy took the opposite approach and sold off his childhood binder for content… pretty contagious personality and very happy go lucky lol but man, sold his childhood base unlimited Zard raw for 90$ And Venusaur for 70$… OH and I forgot, eBay BANNED his account for “suspicious” activity the first time around!!! Yet they don’t ban ALL THE ORHER JUNK WE’RE SEEING LOL. Come on he didn’t have the decency or brains to CALL ON SOME POKEEXPERTS! He put no reserve auctions on everything lmao so he can finish the video after his weekend of sales by saying he made 1000$ selling his cards.

I’m dead this is the most shocking piece of “new content” I’ve seen. It’s as if we’re in 2015 YT world and he’s trying to show people how you can make some extra cash selling some of your old “junk” around the house before that became a thing…

People that don’t have too much of an attachment to their old pokemon cards that have been taking up space in their closet for 20 years are going to be ecstatic that they got $1,000 for them. There is really nothing wrong with that. Some people find their old collections and look up the value and decide to grade them because 9s and 10s sell for so much, then are upset they spent hundreds of dollars and the cards came back as 3s and 4s because they didn’t know how to measure condition. It can be a big time sink to learn the basics of collecting for any hobby. The easiest thing to do for someone with an old collection they don’t care about is to take a picture and put it on ebay as an auction. Not sure why it’s a problem for you.

The joke is it’s base set an unlimited Zard 10s are being pumped to 50k, 9s to 20k loooool I haven’t seen a single Zard post for under 2000$ raw in FACEBOOK groups this whole week

Wow, the standard has become so high for editing in youtube videos. I love those drone shots.

He didn’t do anything wrong or am I missing something? Besides saying base set released in 1996. The Charizard he sold was Base 2. More precisely we don’t even know which cards he sold exactly since he said he still kept some for himself.

Yeah if anything this guy seemed to do everything right without pumping up his cards and hyping PSA 10 prices for every card he found lol

Yeah I noticed the drone work too! Lol we gotta thank Casey for that a few years back  I’d argue the most influential YT / content creator of our day… and didn’t catch that but he showed he sold it for 90$. For the record I know someone who personally sold a BGS 8 (likely a PSA 6-7 tops) for 2k CAD about 1500$ USD lol…

My point is exactly that it’s a video that belongs in 2015 and surprised me so much that both the video and the comment section wasn’t plagued with BS but at the same time I feel he could have gotten more for what he sold :man_shrugging:t2:
