Where do you buy cards?

I’m just getting into collecting Pokémon Cards. So far I’ve only been looking on eBay. Are there other places I should buy cards from either online or in person? I want to focus on base set so I’m not sure if there are a lot of actual stores that sell old cards.

Thanks!

This should help

Hey, are you uk or us based by any chance?

Troll and Toad is a good option depending on your condition standards. 90% of the ‘NM’ cards you receive from them are going to be 6-8 quality, so you’re usually not going to get super minty cards. But the great thing about them is they have insanely good stock, and if something’s currently not in stock it will probably eventually be. And their prices are generally pretty fair.

TCGPlayer is a great option, but the stock of NM Base Set on there is basically wiped out. And the other thing with TCGPlayer is that you have to know which sellers to order from. A lot of sellers on there are clueless and don’t understand how to differentiate between sets, conditions, 1st Ed./Unlimited, etc.

Overall, I’d say eBay and Troll and Toad are going to be your best options.

Thank you. I’m not super concerned about quality but certainly a factor. Just as long as it’s not in horrendous shape

facebook is a great option, marketplace and groups

I’ve found better success on FB Marketplace then eBay frankly.

Folks are willing to provide more info (pics) and work with you on making a deal.

Never even considered the FB marketplace. Thank you both!

@zorloth is correct. Although, if you want a master A+ seller list for TCGplayer you can PM and I’d be happy to share. Trusted sellers who grade beautifully. Anything LP and up is clean baby. I’m sure zorloth himself has his own seller list to boot.
