Just make sure you know what your buying. Look at condition of the cards in photos. If they arenāt good enough condition for you than donāt buy it.
Everytime I see someone selling ungraded cards, I think the card must have a dogbite in it or something. Why would anyone sell his near mint card for half the value? It just doesnāt make sense.
Not everyone is as savvy on card values as the experts here; some people donāt know anything about grading whatsoever. That, and the vast majority of non-ultra rare holos from the EX series and beyond command little if any profit after grading fees and other expenses even at 9-10 when compared to selling as raw mint.
If itās a low-feedback seller with shitty pics and a half-assed description, then thereās good cause for alarm, but if the seller has a good reputation, the pics clearly show that the card is mint, and the price is right, then why wouldnāt you snag it?
I sell mint cards all the time. Sometimes in life, your time is worth more than money. Iād rather flip a card or two to make money to move on to the next big deal instead of spending weeks waiting for PSA returns, to relist etc. That being said, grading is a nice touch but Iām not always after graded cards either!
Lol. Even with some rarer cards, I still casually sell them raw. I buy low, enough to get a nice profit when I sell them. I donāt use eBay, so for me, my market on selling PSA graded cards is low. I have facebook groups but thatās itā¦ I know that sounds crazy, but I think once I get an eBay account for pokemon stuff, the fun is no longer in it for meā¦
Should we (or could we even?) keep a thread with our own comments/ratings on high volume/high value sellers? Like people who a member is likely to consider buying from. Something like thisā¦
Name: edmerlr Reputation: Good/Mixed/Bad or something to that effect Comments: Deals in non-graded English and Japanese cards. Sells through ebay.
I mean it would be a huge undertaking but it would cut a lot of risk out of buying outside of people on the forum.
Has anyone dealt with scbrammers? They have some good looking cards at decent prices, but I donāt want have to go through the hassle of shipping back all the way to Australia if Iām not happy with the condition.
It makes perfect sense. It looks like the back of all the cards I was checking were literally the same the picture so I was a bit suspiciousā¦ It can definitely be misleading.
Dont have the best experience with scbrammers, bought lower end holo cards for binder sets (described as mint/ pack fresh) and received near mint scratched up cards (psa 7 id say). I feel like all his low end cards just have a set default description of āMINT CONDITION! Pulled from booster packets myself and placed straight into protective sleevesā when they actually arnt (unless he doesnt take care of the cards). Also those pictures of the back of a card (the one on a blue background and white background) is the same picture for all the his cards, so its not the actual card youāll be getting.
Yeah Iām glad I have this forum as I was going to make an impulse buy/gamble earlier on 1st ed cards and other stuff, but then I noticed a pattern on how he lists/prices his items. Maybe once a blue moon you get a good deal but more often than he gets you for more than top dollar.
Heās legit though, but I noticed everything is listed as MINT except anything valuable which he puts as NM(same condition as all the rest), that way he avoids any neg feedback. 7 is still NM I guess. lol
I am in Australia and have bought a large amount of cards from him too. I would not recommend buying from scbrammers, his definition of āmintā is not mint. I bought a couple of cheap promo cards from him and was surprised the quality was good so I bought some 1st Edition WOTC holos and like the above post the back of the cards were not the same as the pictures and the holos had scratches which were not commented on or came up on the pictures at all
You have to look very clearly at the front / back of the photos, and listen to descriptions where possible.
There is many vague sellers out there, who donāt stipulate condition correctly, or just show stock images. Itās part of the trading game in pokemonā¦ to be a pokemon master, you must master reading bad ebay listings.
Whenever i list bulk singles, i showcase individual new fresh images (front/back) of the card you will actually receive, and i give a condition range, GEM MINT-MINT, MINT-NM, NM-EX, etc, so there is a little bit of leeway, as everyone sees condition differently, the same way psa will grade the same card an 8, and then a 10 on a different occasion sometimes. Cards with minor flaws can still pass as gem mint grades in psaās books (probably not bgsā), and yeah, itās even written in PSAās description of a 10 that a card can have a minor flaw so long as it doesnāt affect the face value of the item, it can also be slightly off center.
This is a very awesome and reliable seller, who doesnāt grade cards, so he only supplies out the very best, and rarest pokemon cards, at the lowest rates globally, he has a nice family to support as well. So he is very honest and diligent, and the best Japanese ebay seller i know. If there is a flaw in his card, it is noted very clearly with photographs. He supplies amazing, pristine / unique pokemon items around the world for many years.
P.S this is the guy many american and european resellers buy fromā¦
