Squirtle > Bulbasaur > Charmander
Totodile > Chikorita > Cyndaquil
Treecko > Torchic > Mudkip
Piplup > Chimchar > Turtwig
Tepig > Oshawatt > Snivy
Froakie > Chespin > Fennekin

I have been a Water started fanboy every since Day 1. Generation 5 is the only time I have ever strayed from this, because Emboar is just an absolute machine. I pick Mudkip but it doesn’t mean it isn’t awful.

Cyndaquil.

End of discussion.

I personally am partial to water as well. Chose Squirtle on Blue, raised him to a lvl 100 Blastoise. Difficult to break that bond.

I played Gen 6, but none of the starters left much of an impression.

Dunkey already thinks squirtle is the best. (nsfw)

smh

B original plz

You cant get any more original than

CHARIZARD!!

In the early games, it was harder to find a good fire type other than the starters.

There is no better starter than Bulbasaur.

Might as well close the thread now. =p

Totodile.

I fell in love with the gator from his release as a Pokemon card and from the anime.

I liked Charmander only for Charizard but loved Bulbasaur and Squirtle more as pure starters. Just didn’t care for their evolutions.

Could care less about the rest but alwats tended to lean with Water Pokemon. Grass second. But rarely ecer liked Fire Pokemon as a whole.

I like to see things burn, so there for i always chose charmander.

As a kid I always went with grass for tcg, but in the games I always went fire. So charmander and charizard for me.

generally picked water, i didn’t care as long as fire didnt win.

Beating DOWN on Brock and Misty.

But it sucks when you run into Erika.

In this instance, Squirtle sucks even more. By the time you get to Erika, you should already have a Pidgeotto anyway.

Bulbasaur is the ideal starter for type advantages.

Greninja is the best starter.
