Why do PSA 10 Machamps differ so much in Price?

Yesterday I was bidding in a shadowless Machamp 1. Ed. I realized that some go for around 50-80$ PSA 10 and some for 500-1000$ why is that? I couldn’t really find a difference between those two?

This was the Machamp I was bidding on. I stopped when people where bidding over $23. How much would you Price it?
I did not bid on a PSA graded card. I was just bidding on this card and saw that PSA 10s were worth so much. I asked because I was curious if I missed something big here of if just the 10s that fetch outrageous Prices.

A PSA 10 Shadowless Machamp should be selling somewhere in that more expensive price range you mentioned.

The Unlimited (non-Shadowless) Machamp should be treated as a common card that sells in that lower price range you mentioned.

I don’t know the specific sales you’re referring to, but it would not surprise me if there is occasionally confusion around this issue because of the fact that all Machamps are 1st editions. So it could be possible that some people who own a PSA 10 Shadowless Machamp don’t realize that their card is worth much more than the Unlimited (Non-Shadowless) version, so when they look at eBay sold listings they think they should sell the card for much less than it’s actually worth.

Well there are 3 types, First Ed shadowless and First Ed non-shadowless, and first ed non-shadowless with cosmos holo. The shadowless first ed is worth the most, then the cosmos, then the regular “shadowed” first edition. The reason the shadowless have gone for so much is just due to being psa 10.

I guess I made a huge mistake then
I just checked on eBay and they go for 20-100$ dollars there.

1st shadowless psa9 is worth around that 80-100usd I guess…

So, which one is the one I Uploaded?
I’m still a bid confused due to my eBay research.

It is 1st shadowless version, (The more expensive)

Not a single one uploaded was PSA graded. The light play SHADOWLESS one for $20 is about all its worth as it wouldn’t grade well. The second sealed one is NOT shadowless and the third SEALED is SHADOWLESS for $145 is raw and most likely going to be an 8 or 9 (even while sealed).

Yes, sorry I should clarify. I wasn’t talking about a PSA graded card. I was just bidding on this card and saw that PSA 10s were worth so much. Because I was curious if I missed something big here of if just the 10s fetch outrageous Prices.

The one you posted is shadowless. Here are all three types.

First Edition “Shadowed” (Note the black shadow on the right side of the card’s artwork)

First Edition Shadowless (Note the lack of shadow on the right side of the card’s artwork)

Cosmos holo (just a different holo pattern that was included in a cd rom as a pack in)

Thank you for the explanation I thought it was a special kind of shadowless like 4th edition or the 1999 sets, or Grey Stamp or, something that fetched these outragous prices. But if it’s just a normal shadowless I see that its the PSA 10s that fetch those Prices.

Yes, graded Pokemon cards go for a huge premium compared to ungraded cards, especially when cards are graded as PSA 10.

A 1st edition Base Set Charizard is a good example of how prices scale:

PSA 10: $40,000
PSA 9: $5,500
PSA 8: $3,000
PSA 7: $2,000
PSA 6: $1,600
PSA 5: $1,300
PSA 4: $1,100
Ungraded: Usually in the ballpark of $1,000 if it’s in decent shape, could be worth less or more depending on condition as shown in pictures.

This video by Ludkin’s should help clear up the matter in detail
