Why I Never, Based on a Picture, Give a Grading Opinion

You can see a big crease down the front?

Clear front and back pictures of a raw card is usually sufficient info to give an estimate

I’d be happy with that card, Is it just that crease at the bottom that gave it the 1 grade or is there more issues i can’t see?

Look carefully. There’s a big vertical crease going right down the center of the card.

But to Gary’s point - perhaps this could have been missed if it was taken from a different angle with a low-quality camera.

The best psa 1 1st ed venu going. To be honest I didn’t spot the crease either until I saw the replies. Lets hope that southern island binder I just bought does not have creases on the holos xD

This is hilarious. Here I thought you needed to feed a card to your dog to get a PSA 1 but then there’s this gem.

creased, looks a stained and i bet the back looks pretty bad. Still has eye appeal and looks nice framed.

This is the kind of thing that I get myself in trouble over. I’ve bought a few cards over the years that look amazing in the pictures but when I receive them there is something major that you couldn’t see clearly in the pic…

Definitely a strong PSA 8. Maybe a 9 even. REGRADE?!?!

Besides the crease, The back must have surface issues or damage on it

In all seriousness, though. It does look pretty good until you notice the crease. If this were a raw card in a binder, I doubt many would realize it until they got in for a closer look.

Disappointed to open this thread and not see the Heracross meme.

Yeah there can be many flaws on a card that are unnoticeable until you harshly analyze it. Not saying that is the case here, but I recently went over my cards I planned to get graded and even some already graded cards, and found flaws I never noticed before.
