Howdy howdy, I was wondering if there is a story behind why this card - Ho-Oh Black Star 52 from the NYC Pokemon Center - is so cheap ($50 for a PSA 10)? I believe it to be a unique artwork, and it does not seem to have a wildly high POP (~350 PSA 10), so the low price after all these years makes me wonder if there is a story behind it. Any insights?

I would assume low demand. Definitely a cool card, but it’s often overlooked.

Most people are happy with the basic black star, and unlike 40 and 41 it isn’t an exclusive promo but just a minor variant.
