Would You Rather Buy with $4.5k?

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to start maybe a little fun discussion and conversation on here, not talking about or seeking investment advice. Just personal opinions and collection desires, etc.

So, I’ve listed 3 items below that (I think) are similiarly priced around 4.2-4.5k. If you had 4.5k to spend and you had to pick from the below, which would you rather have?

  1. 1st Edition Base Charizard PSA 8

  2. 1st Edition Base Venusaur PSA 10

  3. Fossil 1st Edition Box

And just for the giggles, I’ll throw in a 4th option:

  1. 2x 1st Edition T17 PSA 9

Again, not seeking investment advice or guidance with what should I do with 4.5k lol. Just thought it would be an interesting discussion on 3 WOTC classics.

All recent sales for a PSA 10 1st edition Blastoise have gone for at least $6k.

(And that would be my answer regardless of value)

Man those are all good, but for me I would have to say the charizard (If we are excluding the ability to take a separate option sell it and buy the charizard with left over money). I have no 1st ed base charizard in my collection and I would love having one! And an 8 would look spicy.

Ok well I guess my value for the blastoise was off a bit with some recent sales haha.

Anybody have some better alternatives to throw in the ring?

As mentioned above Blastoise if you can find one for that price (which I highly doubt) close second being Charizard.

There is 4 or 5 routes I’d go with 4.5k to spend on cards but none of them are listed. So hmm I guess I’d pick the Zard

Minty fresh Fossil 1st Edition box? Don’t know if you could find one for that price right now. But that would be my vote.

With a PSA 10 Venusaur as a close 2nd :blush:

I know this isn’t an option but I’d buy a shining psa 10 1st ed charizard strong grade. I’d add a little cash or a little more in trade since it’s worth little more.
It’s charizard, it has first edition symbol, it’s a shining, easily top 5 charizards, psa 10, and it’s my favourite set card in Pokémon.

It would be between the fossil box and charizard. I would prefer charizard, but I already own one so maybe a fossil box. Too hard to say.

I’m with him, except swapped. Venusaur PSA 10 gives you the satisfaction that nothing can get cleaner (IMO).

Fossil Box… it’s like holding a mini treasure chest in my eyes. Either way, you’ll be stoked! :grin:

T17PSA9 should be up to 5k by next week and 50k in a month, so I’d go with two of those and trade them in for 2 PSA 10 1st Base Charizards

If I were a patient man I’d hold on to the T17PSA9 for 2 months and buy all the trophy cards ever printed including pkonno’s stash, but that’s just too long of a turnaround for me.

Real answer: PSA 8 Charizard
