Apparently a 9 already broke 50k. There are 8s listed for 22-24k on ebay though. GL!

Where did you hear that?

I know an 8 sold for 15.5k a few days ago. So you’re in the right range, just gotta hope you find someone willing to sell. Good luck!

He’s just trolling because people are claiming $50k is the new price point when some bgs 9s just sold for about half that price around a week ago on PWCC. Maybe it is the new price point, maybe it isn’t; he’s definitely trolling though lol

As someone who sold a psa 8 for 3k in january this is very painful to see

Then 38k might interest him

You can find 50k or you can find a 35k seller.
It’s all on who’s a real buyer and the vibe on the deal too. A lot of different factors.
I’ve honestly sent sellers 13k plus for cards and paid FF PP and never even spoke to the person on the phone. Just a good vibe.

Matter of fact last night I purchased a quad plus Magneton BGS 9.5 1st Ed for 10k FF PP. never met the dude before. He’s mailing the card out today.

I’m selling my PSA 8 you can see it on Instagram zards_r_us

I’m sending it to PWCC if it doesn’t sell on Instagram

You and me both brother, I sold my psa 9 for 7k around March I think…biggest financial mistake of my life. Now I’m cashing out the rest of my cards and I’m like f@#! this hobby, I’m done with it.

I’ve been in this hobby for 10 years and never could have predicted such insanity.
I sold because I wanted to teach myself to be able to let go of certain things with sentimental value, even prized possessions.

I feel like life and the hobby has bent me over and shafted me up the azz–the worst time in history to sell, ever.
I must have been a real pos in a past life to deserve that.
A hobby I once loved has now left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Also, the people who are paying these prices are 100% investors/speculators not collectors at all.

I think many are investors/speculators but there are also collectors with FOMO. I’m in that boat for some cards but it’s not like I can go back in time and buy them, I either need to:
A. Quit collecting - not ready to do that (yet… Maybe if we go up another 10-100x from here)
B. Pony up current market price
C. Wait and hope it gets cheaper in the future. This leads back to A or B.

And my lesson learned is don’t sell anything unless I’m sure I don’t want to keep it, because once it’s gone I may not be able to get it again (at a price I’m willing to pay).

A friend of a friend recently got into buying charizards from the youtube videos, and my friend introduced him to me.

The guy was, and I shit you not, literally clicking BIN on whatever wotc base/base 2 charizard that is available in PSA 7-9 below 1k. He also clicked BIN on numerous ungraded zards to send to psa in hopes of a 10. He spends a couple grand every single day over the past few week, addicted to the price increases and gains over the last month.

No passion, limited genuine interest, just pure greed in hoping that it’ll go up some more. It was hilarious and appalling, but also very helpful for me to finally understand how did prices go up so much.

At least in the near term, I reckon we are closer to the top than the bottom, especially for the lower end and lower grade stuff. The ending is not going to be pretty for a lot of these speculators.
