Is the English version the rare one? Japanese ? I donā€™t know squat about this cardā€™s rarity, and every article Iā€™ve found online is rather vague.

The gotta Mew is a japanese ā€œenglishā€ card. The normal eneglish #8 is not worth much in comparison. Gotta mew is glossy like the coro coro cards.

Above is the link to the information page that includes gotta mew. This is in the unnumbered japanese promotional cards article. I personally edited and added gotta mew a while back ago and shortly after that it seemed to get more popular. I know a guy that had 4 of them. He sold me a mint one and graded an unpeeled one that got a 10 (the only 10 I know). He graded another that got an 8 and another that got a 9. The 8 he sold and the 9 and 10 are on eBay still I think.

^^^^ He will negotiate with you if you really want it. Make him an offer for his 9 or 10 if you like. Yes the card is fairly rare and is tough to find because a lot of people dont even realize what they have. I lucked out and stumbled upon the french gotta pikachu.

Iā€™d like to point out itā€™s not pop 1 anymore. A PSA 10 Gotta Mew was sold for less than $1,000 a few weeks ago.

I could have SWORN I had this card somewhere. I have the japanese holo fossil and english black star promo holo #9, but I know I had an additional ā€˜non-holoā€™ version of the black star #9 (Did they even make this card non-holo?) at one pointā€¦ maybe it was just a non-holo version of the holo promo (as I always assumed), or maybe it was the glossy #8. IDK, but iā€™ll see if I canā€™t find it/recall what the crap I ever did with it ; p

Did you buy it? He mentioned you were interested in his the last time I saw him. I wanted that card before he sent it in and forgot to buy it and then I was priced out when he got it back as a 10.
