275 * 36 is 9900. Don’t take this the wrong way but your offer is 30% below what is currently at. Most sellers aren’t going to reach out to you and try to work out a deal. z&g made a video where we talked about if you find a truly rare item just buy it don’t try to lowball don’t try to hustle. Sealed items are the one thing most people can agree we’re probably not see a retrace. you’re going to kick yourself for not offering 10 grand for the box now when it’s at 12 to 15 in a few months.
I didn’t figure a direct 1:1 correlation between box breaks and sealed boxes. I always figured the price per pack would be higher since that’s an easier market for more people to get into vs a single buyer taking a sealed box approaching the $10k range.
I do agree with the no nonsense buying, I just figured $7500 was a fair start and feeler based on an April sale. Thanks for your input!
your welcome. If it weren’t a 1:1 premium there would be so many people buying boxes just to break them and sell them individually. Sealed boxes should hold a premium over the sealed packs. So imo the boxes should be worth more than $275x36.
You’re right, whenever packs become worth more than the boxes, people will start breaking boxes to make more profit. If this occurs, box prices will see an increase.
single packs can be weighed and so you have a low likelihood of getting a heavy pack, lest you got a pack from a reputable/truthful seller who opened a booster box themselves. plus, boxes are in lower supply than packs. boxes thus have a premium (sometimes a huge premium) over the packs individually. this is opposite of retail where BULK gets you better prices. this is rare collectibles, not bulk.
hope you can locate a box. the unlimited is still so nice. i agree with the other comments: you do have to pay a little premium to secure a premium product.
Theres an inherent wrong in using a 1:1 ratio. Only very few people can get the premiums pokerev and tca can get for unweighed booster boxes which isnt available to all other purchasers. Even channels like zandg (shoutout to jciny for the quality) can’t command the same premium as they do.
A realistic value based on lesser known box breakers is more accurate. Pokerev and tca are in a very fortunate position to get well over market value.
Regardless of TCA and PokeRev Premium boxes will be getting more expensive. My point was that prices will likely climb and it’s better to pay now then to try to save a little. How many people here can look back on a card, pack, box etc and wish they bought it then when it was 10-20% overpriced (based on personal feelings or sales)? $10,000 boxes seems expensive, but there will be some who will look back and wish they paid that extra to secure it now.
