This is true. Since we’re mainly a collectors site we try to filter out lowballers by requesting public offers:)

Plus, it doesn’t hurt to build some credibility on the forums before asking people to sell stuff to you. I know I wouldn’t sell any high-value items to somebody who has posted less than a dozen times and is a complete mystery to me. If you hang around for a while, make yourself known, and contribute to the discussions, you’ll find the doors of opportunity will eventually open to you.

You don’t have to be a celebrity here to make deals. In my first week here I made a sizable purchase off someone commenting in this very thread and it was smooth as butter. How you’ve conducted yourself in this thread with people actually trying to help you all but insures you won’t find many willing partners. This place is comprised of high end collectors and I guarantee at least a half dozen people who are on this forum have what you are looking for.

Seriously… Stop wasting people’s time and just pay the extra 10% or so on ebay.

I mentioned in my first response that I was looking to pay the going rate on eBay, minus some change for skirting around third party fees. Looking at the recently sold section, that’s around $2200.
I offered you some friendly, constructive advice. Take it or leave it — at this point, I don’t really care.

What everyone is trying to say is that this site has high end collectors that aren’t necessarily looking to sell (especially not below ebay prices), unless the offer is enticing, it just makes it easy for everyone to have a $ value. Then they can decided whether or not they want to sell for around that price. It’s also nice to get involved with the community, otherwise people think you are just here to buy expensive items, and nothing else.
Anyway, hope you get the box 
While there have been a couple of sales at $2200 recently, there have also been sales up around $2800. Additionally, the only boxes even for sale right now on ebay are up around $2800. Prices have been going up everyday recently. Its a sellers market.
$2200 is going to be the low end of offers. I dont think you are going to get any interest at the price…
You might just have to wait until something pops up on ebay to try to get it around that price.
