Hello there.
I have a BGS 9.5 1st edition Charizard (Thick Stamp)
Subs are 9.5 and corners 9
I would value it at 10-15k (PWCC has one coming up, and I’m sure that will shed more light on the value) the comparables range from 6k a few months ago- 18k on eBay.
I’m willing to trade for another 1st edition 9.5 Charizard because I want to bump my subs.
Willing to pay 2k-2.5k per .5 sub bump.
Ideally I’m looking for a quad 9.5 or a quad+ and am looking to add about 2k-5k to the trade (depending on the card) Also prefer Thick stamp and am prepared to pay a bit of a premium for it.
Willing to send first to a trusted E4 member, also obviously able to provide pictures of my beautiful card upon request!
I know this is not the point of your post. However, i can’t help myself asking a questions if you don’t mind me asking.Do you prefer BGS? Have you tried or thought of crossover to PSA?
I personally prefer it. And no. Currently I’m only crossing cards in the other direction. I’m not a huge advocate of PSA and I hope to see BGS take its rightful place as the superior grading company in the Pokémon community one day
I didn’t create this post to debate. I feel BGS is the superior grading company for high end cards. You may feel a different way! And that’s great too!
Not wanting to turn this in a grading company thread but I have to side with @britishcolumbiazards here. I like the superior feeling of a BGS case as well as their precise grades much more than a PSA slab. Actually I had a few friends over the other day and they have no clue about TCG/grading and I showed them some BGS as well as PSA graded cards, they didn´t dislike the PSA ones but they literally said that the BGS case makes the cards look like a piece of art, which I found really impressing. To keep this at least a little on topic: Good luck with your offer, sounds very reasonable to me!
To be fair you made a claim that is completely false. I don’t care at all which grading company you prefer, but saying “there is a reason Beckett is superior in literally every other hobby” is objectively invalid. People are naturally going to respond to massive claims that aren’t true.
Just to be clear, I wasn’t just talking about sheer volume of cards that are graded by each company. Sure, PSA has a higher population in the majority of categories I’m sure. But I believe if you ask most high end collectors of magic, baseball, basketball or really any sport for that matter if they would prefer a high sub 9.5 or a psa 10. They are going to tell you they prefer the BGS card. That’s what I mean by superior. But of course the majority of high end Pokémon collectors have sunk 99% of their subs into PSA, and would prefer that PSA 10 stay the standard. Much like yourself and Gary. No disrespect to you at all, but it would make sense you would be big PSA advocates. Which has been shown to be true in past threads. None the less! Thanks for your input. Much respect to you and Gary none the less!
You said your crossing them over “in the other direction”. Please don’t tell me you doing that with PSA 10s and accepting BGS 9.5s? If you are then it’s a very costly game.
The first time I submitted a card to BGS it came back with a bug squished where it was sealed. Half the bug was inside the case with the card, the other half was hanging out the case.
