As 2016 comes to a close, and with the start of a new set series (GX), as well as a show and game, I thought it’d be kind of cool to share what you wish could’ve been done differently! As well as what you hope would’ve happened this year with Pokemon, but sadly didn’t!

My BIGexample being the 2016 Battle Festa Magikarp not being a holographic. I instantly had fallen in love with the English counter part, and could not wait for the Japanese version to come out (assuming it was going to be holo). Sadly, they released it Non Holo
First on the list is the lack of Moltres Full Art, why? The lack of Suicune FA, explain to me why the fuck! Speaking of the shiny magikarp Japanese promo, would have loved for it to have been made with embossed Holo like the Neo FanKarp. I also was looking forward to a M Charizard X&Y, Mega Blastoise & M Venusaur Holo Rare cards. Obviously the absence of Base Set Blastoise & Venusaur Holo Rare reprints in CP6/XY12 was the worst, needless to say.
Also I did not acquire a 1st edition Charizard so, yeah.
Generations was the biggest disappointment since my sons birth.
Also the last few XY sets(outside of Evolutions, and even Evolutions to an extent) were severely underwhelming and lackluster. The BREAK nonsense was completely passe.
20th Generation TCG related stuff wasn’t nearly as capitalised upon as it should have been.
Don’t worry, I was in a car crash when I was 18 and to spare you the sordid details I had very bad injuries to my abdomen and genital area and I will never be able to have children.
Regarding releases, I was mainly disappointed to only see Charizard in the XY Evolutions set, but not Venusaur and Blastoise.
Regarding personal disappointments my biggest was probably winning a Thin print 1st ed. Base Pikachu auction, which turned out to be fake on arrival… Damn I was pissed.
But let’s focus on the great moments instead, shall we? Always stay positive. Who knows? Maybe Blastoise and Venusaur Base artworks will be re-released as well in the near future. We never know what the future brings.
I’ll have to second the lack of Blastoise holo as being a huge disappointment. And of course no holo alakazam.
My personal disappointment was not getting into collecting before August haha. Oh and eBay making me confirm my snipe bid on 1st edition gold star mew. My phone doesn’t make me confirm so why did you laptop?? Why??
Missed two Grey STamp Gary’s one being a PSA 9 which I randomly messaged a guy if he had any grey stamp holos and said that he sold it privately about an hour prior
Honestly speaking didn’t see any major disappointmens this year, only thing that comes in my mind would be lack of Suicune EX FA, no regular Venusaur/Blastoise holos in Evolutions etc. incomplete trios.
Art Academy Mew card.
And probably the Gotta! Mew but I am holding out hope that I’ll find it someday. It’s more likely to find than the Art Academy card.
Generations in general (I think people thought this would be like the Evolutions set ended up being)
Some of the Promo boxes / tins + the price of them going waaaay up especially here in Finland. I bought very few Promo products this year compared to earlier years
No Salamence EX FA / M Salamence EX FA but on the positive side Salamence got his special release (which was one of the few English promo products I bought this year)
Dual types only being in Steam Siege. This was a great concept, too bad they made it too late…
