Your favourite sealed item?

Hi members of E4 what is your favourite sealed item of all time? It can be anything from a sealed single card to a sealed booster box, something you own or not. Only condition is that it has to be sealed.

Would love to hear why the item you chose is your favourite and a story about the item if you have one!

I’ll start with my signed Mysterious Mountains booster pack. I got it signed in person at Pokemon Con Norway last year. Before I went to the con I didn’t really know anyone in the Norwegian community, but I got to know and meet a lot of people in the community and it was a very enjoyable experience in general. Getting the opportunity to meet Arita in person was also very honourable. Always nice to look at the booster and think back to the con. In addition to this I think the artwork on the booster looks really good (Don’t know if anyone know who designed the pack artwork) and it may contain a Crystal Zord.

I have a lot of items as honourable mentions, but I’ll save them for later haha.

Looking forward to your submissions!

This thread may have been posted before, but I’ll start a thread anyways

Favourite sealed item I owned was a Mew EX that I now opened & sent off for grading, favourite sealed item I own would actually have to be an MTG Innistrad playmat. I’m not into MTG but I appreciate lots of the art they do, including the awesome box art of that particular set. Sadly there’s no card or even booster with it, so I bought the box in 2018 (thinking it was the cheapest option for the art & knowing it’s a pretty safe purchase) and only later found out about the surprisingly scarce playmat with the same art, which I was luckily able to find.

Can’t say I have any or have had any favorite sealed items. Though if I had to choose, it would be the Japanese packs of Team Rocket, Leader’s Stadium, and Challenge from the Darkness - as a kid I was completely won over by the card quality of Japanese cards so much so that if a store still had some left over, I would skip the English packs, even of newer sets, just to purchase those.

@nickofturl also dug up a favorite memory of mine. Scyther was in the top 5 of my favorite Pokemon back when there was only the OG 151 along with Mewtwo, Alakazam, Nidoking, and of course Gyarados. So when Jungle boosters came out, I was pumped for the chance of getting a Scyther. One of my first packs was of course the Scyther art. And inside? A Scyther. :stuck_out_tongue:

Midori Harada did the art for the Japanese e-series boxes and packs (except e1/expedition)

The New Intro Starter Pack!

By far my most favored sealed item, and so much so that I bought a second. They just look so damn beautiful and really capture the start of gen 2 perfectly.

My favorite sealed items has to be my two boxes of sealed Topps Candy Containers. These poke balls contains a figurine and a bag of candy (and stickers from 2006 an onwards). They were my undisputed favorite toys to play with and collect as a kid. I brought my figures to school almost every day and have so many memories with them. A friend of mine even broke an arm because of a game we played with the figures, but that’s a story for another day😂

There were 18 different releases/series of these made from 1999 until it was discontinued in 2011. So far I have managed to snag up two of these boxes but my dream is of course to get them all some day!

If anyone has any questions about these, hit me up!

It would be disingenuous for me not to say my sealed 1st Ed base case so I’ll pick that. Now my favorite non card Pokémon item isn’t even a close call. The Bandai Venusaur figure from 2012 is tops. Not valuable really, but for sure my favorite:)

I’m probably breaking the rules with choosing two, but they really count as one release. Probably the Pokemon league Trainer Decks (A & B) for me:)

@garyis2000 I’ve not seen that Venu box before. It looks great!

My favourite has to be my UK Print Base 2000 Charizard Booster which i can’t bring myself to open despite weighing in at 21.43g.
This is staying sealed to protect the 1999-2000 Charizard that’s inside

I’m happy about all my Japanese sealed purchases (VHS Intro Pack, Intro Pack Neo, Pikachu Best Song collection, Neo Premium Files, Vending sheets). The thing is though, they’re not sealed anymore because I liked the contents more than the intact seal :stuck_out_tongue:

The items I will actually keep sealed are my Japanese boosters from Base to Mysterious Mountains. A few are still missing and it’s hard to pick a favorite. Top four in no particular order are probably Mysterious Mountains, Split Earth, Jungle and Base

My favorite sealed thing is an EX Dragon box but I have come to the unfortunate reality that I will most likely not ever be able to afford one.

My favourite sealed item is an opened one. Packs are meant to be cracked.

But, I really love my Kanto Misty Trainer box

I only have a single sealed booster pack; a single sealed booster box; a single sealed theme deck; and about 25 sealed promos. If I had to pick a favorite of those, it’s probably the booster pack: Red Logo Fossil pack with Aerodactyl artwork. I just love the Red Logo on the light brown pack, and Aerodactyl is an amazing Pokémon:

The incoming sealed Moltres with Game Boy Color insert is a very close second, though. I’ve been searching for this sealed card from Australia for about 2.5 years now, so I’m happy to finally been able to find one (and almost have it in my hand).

probably the ex series value pack, since it’s the first and only sealed product to include blister packs instead of boosters! and contains three of my favorite sets

Beautiful. Have you no urge at all to open one of them? The cards inside are really worth it IMO
