Been going to a lot of card shows and watching vendor POVs and hear soo many different pronunciations of Pokemon.
Does anyone here pronounce any pokemon names that go against the “mainstream”?
Or common mispronunciations that really grind your gears whenever you hear it?
Mine would be “Munch” promo cards. The artists name was pronounced “Ed-vard Munk” people!

Also, I always called it GEE-ra-dos growing up. I realize now I may have been wrong…

I know it’s wrong but in my head I always read Decidueye as Deck-ih-doo-yee and I hate it too. Suicune was always Soo-ih-coon and houndour is always hound-door 
I’m sure there are many more but these are the ones I always remember off the top of my head
Also I couldn’t figure out how to say Litleo for years I just kept reading it as little leo until I heard someone actually put it together

I don’t give it much thought but as a norwegian, “muhnch” is an atrocious pronunciation of the name. “Mink” would be a lesser malapropism.

btw if you ever want to know the correct pronunciation for a pokemon, just wait for one of the casters to say it on stream since they’re given the officially sanctioned pronunciations
like when gen 9 came out and nobody knew how to officially say many names like garganacl or gholdengo

my friend and i always pronounced the move facade as “Fa-kayde”, now i can never pronounce it the correct way.
How was a dumb kid supposed to know what that move is?? How is a not much smarter adult supposed to know what that move is??

I have a friend that would make alot of people in this current market angry.
He plays/collects One Piece, and wasnt much of a Pokemon guy, but pronounces Umbreon as “OOM-breon”. (Like oom as in “out of mana, oom”) It sent instant chills up my spine.
