Your thoughts on older PSA slab tampering possibility?

I’m in the process of purchasing a Crystal Ho-oh and Lugia PSA 10. They are both in older slabs… should I be wary? or am I overthinking things?

Ho-oh listed on eBay-

Lugia is not listed on ebay but on instagram instead.

what are some “must check” items that I should ask for prior to my purchase?

Some additional thoughts on the reason’s why I’m asking is because I heard that the older PSA slabs can be tampered with.
PSA slab being opened slightly to swap out the card for a fake and resealed as the older cases in the past weren’t as “tamper-proof”.
Newer PSA cards have much more tamper-proof measures in place like the lighthouse sticker, UV patterns on the back, ink markers across the front, etc.

Ex: this guy on youtube:
- YouTube (replicated psa case)
- YouTube (crystal lugia)

Old slab PSA 10s are all equivalent to new slab PSA 9s - cards just weren’t in gem mint condition back then.

In all serious, just ask to see the range of photos for the Lugia, that has been provided for the Ho-oh. The Ho-oh looks fine to me

The real answer is that you’re going to be perfectly fine. If you’re really paranoid about the exact details of the condition ask for pictures. The classic ‘buy the card, not the grade’ adage. If you really don’t feel comfortable purchasing the card even after seeing pictures of it you should probably reconsider why you’re buying graded cards in the first place. If you value your own opinion on condition more than PSA graders, don’t pay premiums for PSA graded cards. I have cards with the new PSA sticker, the small silver sticker, and no PSA sticker. You’ll be ok.

Ho oh looks fine for a PSA 10, although you’ll have to definitely clean the case if you buy it for your own visual appeal as there’s scratches all over the holo portion of the case lol

I’ve added in a few details as to why I posted at the bottom your thoughts are appreciated!

Those fakes don’t look particularly convincing to me. In relation to the Lugia you posted it looks fine. The case and the card both look correct to me.

Thank you so much for your quick response
Definitely easing my mind.

I second that. I think e-reader cards are a lot harder to forge. That zard looks more credible than the Lugia in my opinion
